Why is it so hard to get an Obama bumper sticker?
I've been trying to get one from my local Democratic Party Headquarters for a few weeks. When I'm in that part of town, I stop in and try to get one. They never have any. And it isn't because they keep selling out - they just don't get any in. So a week or two ago they took my name and phone number and said they'd call when they came in. And then, the other day, they called. Today I was over on that side of town and tried to get one (well, two) but they didn't have any and they said they hadn't had any for weeks, and they don't know who called or why.

I live in a swing state - in a swing county of a swing state even. We should be swimming in these, right? When Kerry was running they were everywhere. I got them sent in the mail without even asking. I think I ended up with like 8 of them. Bumper stickers don't cost much and I'm more than willing to pay for them even. They need to be out. It isn't too early at all.

So I went to barackobama.com to try to get some. I saw white ones, and I thought that would be cool because I have a dark blue car and it would stand out more. Guess what? Sold out.

23. Ya know I have been known to swear from time to time but I'm not sure that was necessary.
I feel the OP's pain. I am here in Ohio using my time trying to get things off of the ground. I think that the least we could get would be bumper stickers and buttons. I have spent $300 personally for such items. This does not include cash donations to the campaign. We are having a house party on Friday and huge four day 4th of July event in the village and I can't get anything to pass out. These are opportunities lost. I have 100 buttons on my shelf that will go out if Obama can not find a way to get us the goods. It is really frustrating if you are in the trenches. Obama lines are busy or unanswered. It is good that they are crazy busy but hey aren't we all?

34. I will save you the trip.
My talks with Obama folks is that they will not have anything to pass out until the GE!! People need to buy their own bumper stickers and buttons because they need to make money on the items. No lie. I am physically ill to hear the Obama people on the phone when I have spent hundreds of dollars on buttons on my own. They expect us to buy buttons and bumper stickers for our four day July 4th celebration. Go figure! I am as sick of this as you, are believe me. I have an Obama house party on Friday, I will buy food, drink and have called, walked and emailed to get the word out. The icing on the cake is that Obama is going to bail Hill out at this very minute ( His big donors but hey 10 mil to her is 10 mil he doesn't get from them). Good luck with that. Peace love and *uck off.

3. Where do you live?
The Oakland County Dems office has them in now. My friend just got one. Of course, they could be gone already! I ordered mine from the Obama website a while ago and it took less than two weeks to get it. Of course, they weren't sold out at the time. I just got my lawn sign last week and that took about three weeks.

10. Michigan
I'm going the cafepress route mentioned above I guess. I was planning to put like $20 in the coffee can for the bumper stickers because I'd rather give the money to the campaign, but I'm getting frustrated and losing my patience. I'll be giving money to the campaign anyway I guess. It's just frustrating.

4. Because the campaign doesn't believe buttons and stickers get votes...
We had a lot of trouble getting them for our Obama office during the primary ~ apparently the campaign doesn't like to spend money sending them out; would rather people get them online.

37. Same issue here in Florida during 2000
our Dem office wouldn't even order them because they said that they don't get votes. Eventually they did order a few and sold them for $5-10 each. Seeing a sea of Bush Cheney stickers and almost no Gore stickers didn't send a very good message, imho.

5. try buying one from Obama's store - link here
http://store.barackobama.com/Stickers_s/500.htm

This purchase will also count as a contribution to the Obama campaign as well. Truly a win-win.

:D

15. I had some stuff on backorder for the past 2 mos.
I finally got everything, including the poster below *brag brag* :) yesterday.

It came in 3 separate shipments over the past month or so. I ordered some signs for my late mother's friend who is almost 90 years old and she got them last week (it took two weeks).

it's just frustrating and it doesn't seem like it should be this much work. The guy is running for president, right? And I'm looking for a promotional item. I guess what's frustrating is that we're doing a little traveling through some other upper midwest states over the next couple of weeks and I liked the idea of doing the trip with the bumper sticker on the back of my car. It isn't THAT big of a deal.

8. If you're near Royal Oak, you can get them at the OCDP office
515 S. Lafayette. The suggested donation is $3.00 and it goes directly to the campaign.

11. I've given over a thousand away in Madison
Stop by the Obama table in Madison WI at the Farmers Market on Saturdays from 8am-12pm on the corner of W. Main and Carroll. A couple of us have been giving Obama bumperstickers out since last year... we run out of a usual batch of 50 or so by 11am.

PM me and I'll send you one if you can't make it.

26. I'll actually be in Wisconsin next week
We're taking the ferry across the lake for kicks I guess. I get motion sickness so it wasn't my idea. Anyway, if we're there on Saturday I'll have to stop by. When we travel we often stop at farmers markets to get stuff to eat. But I think we might be going through Milwaukee rather than Madison.

There is also a Madison Unity party across the street after afterwards that should be a lot of fun. The Farmers Market here is huge, with over 10,000 people.

Good job. We have done over $300 worth of buttons ourselves. Good feeling but very frustrating to donate to Obama and not get any support. peace, Kim

27. Maybe they're being printed by Republican companies?
If that is the case, then spelling complicated names like "Obama," with more
than four letters, might be a challenge greater than they can handle?

I got it by snail mail from a regular in "Forums: Guns". I know how you feel, it is difficult to find an active brick-and-mortar campaign HQ anymore, let alone stickers. May as well make your own!
