The owner of a Rolling Meadows apartment complex, which approximately 2,000 people call home, says in a federal lawsuit police have unjustifiably erected concrete barricades and established a road block for entrance into the complex.
W/G Kristina 123 LLC, W/G LCD and managing member Michael Sparks claims tenants at 12 Oaks at Woodfield are feeling “like prisoners in their own homes” since police constructed road blocks and began interrogating occupants and visitors to the complex, according to the suit filed Tuesday.
“Rolling Meadows is not engaged in a war, nor is it fighting imminent criminal activity,” states the suit, which claims continued police activity at the complex is unconstitutional.
The suit names Rolling Meadows City Manager Thomas Melena, Police Chief Steven Williams, unknown police officers and the city of Rolling Meadows as defendants.
