ATTENTION EAST COASTERS!
Good morning!

I started a thread about Dingleberry's visit to Iowa today (here)

Please post your predictions before he shows up, so you can be in the running for bragging rights or something.

Bush's visit to Iowa...

Idiot is scheduled to be in Iowa today for a photo-op.

I wanted to give the East Coasters one last chance to get their guesses in before they go to work.

12. Yes we did!
And the Celtics couldn't have won without Jayhawk Paul Pierce (KU '98). ;)

15. My bad, I was talking about real professionals, not fake amateurs
And by fake amateurs, yes I am calling out USC's corrupt athletic system.

Oh, and this was an East Coast vs. West Coast comparison. Sorry that the middle of the country was left out.

Why start behaving now!?

What would this place be if everyone behaved?

You're just doing this to make everyone else look bad.

21. What's up with his book title?
"I Am America and So Can You"

I mean, it's funny every time I hear it, but I don't understand it. I'm sure you're an expert on this subject though.

Oh, and to the original subject...Bush told a joke that fell flat in England about the flooding. Something about how he's been to too many disasters already. If he says something like that in Iowa, he'll be skewered on the spot. I can't wait to see how he dances around any Katrina questions if it's a press Q&A though, especially with Scott McClellan's book out there.

22. I think he is making fun of the name of one of his guest's book...
Edited on Thu Jun-19-08 08:58 AM by ColbertWatcher
...Russell Simmons got his nailing April 23, 2007 to promote his book Do You!: 12 Laws to Access the Power in You to Achieve Happiness and Success, which Oprah helped him name.

Also the cover of Dr. Colbert's book looks suspiciously like another cult leader's famous book.

Back to Comandurr in Moran, he's at the White House right now making more bad jokes.

So, no word yet when he will bother the people of Iowa...still looking out for it...

9. LOL!
I don't care for the Lakers, I am a college basketball fan.

And I am happy for KG to finally get his ring.

But, you have to admit, even without a pro football team, LA is doing alright.

5. What makes you think * is gonna show up?
Never mind - he has people flying the plane and driving a line of big SUVs who know what they are doing. And those Apache helicopters are never far away.

OK, here's my entry: We could have never known that the levees would break.

10. Whenever the cameras get set up and the relief trucks arrive
Sorry, can't give you an exact time but, if history is any indication, Georgie will show up when the cameras on in place and the aid arrives. That way, the weary American public will see him and the aid at the same time and might get fooled into thinking that he's doing something. In other words, he can't show up until the props are in place. If he shows up before the aid, how can he hand water out and look like a hero?

Remember when he did this during Katrina? They kept as much aid away as possible until Georgie arrived. That way they could do split screens of Bush riding in like a knight on one side of the screen and truck loads of aid on the other. He did his little "I'm here to save you speech" then handed out water. Then he gathered his props, I mean people, and drove around a little trying to look like he gave a shit.

11. Oh, I remember...

That's one reason why I'm asking people to guess what the ass will do.

He is predictable.

His party is predictable.

If it isn't about hate, it's about creating the illusion they aren't what their actions define them as.

Nothing says how bad these guys are then to have people predict what they will do.

None of us are psychic, how in the world could any of us possibly know what is going to happen before it does?

13. OK, I'll take a shot...
First, it will be a total photo shoot with a little not-too-subtle stumping for McCain somehow thrown in and maybe even a sideways swipe or two at Obama.

Second, he'll remark about how incredibly resilient the good people of Iowa are, how self-sufficient and peaceful they are, how he's proud such god-fearing "real" Americans haven't resorted to looting or other criminal behavior. Of course, he won't say it, but he'll hint at how much more civilized Iowans are than the people of NOLA...a little coded red meat for his unevolved base.

Third, he'll tout all the "work" his administration is doing to help and then promise much more of this "help".

Fourth, god bless Iowa and god bless America.

Then he'll climb aboard whatever first class air transportation our tax dollars are providing along with his assortment of paid ass-kissers and lap dog press people, fly away, and never think about Iowa again.
