1. It is just more of the usual distraction tactics always used by GOPers
Making sure everyone doesn't do anything which would actually help solve the problem but which would cut into huge profits being made; just whine about some dishonest distraction which gets under the skin of lefties.

Isn't all the massive offshore drilling we are doing off the coast of Louisiana one of the major reasons the wetlands are being destroyed thus increasing damage caused by incoming hurricanes?

What do you expect him to propose? Remove the thousands of rigs and wells already there?

4. So we put more oil on the market and the Saudis take more oil off the market...
And the "new" oil will go on the world market and their control over the oil prices will continue. The drilling will most likely have absolutely no impact on the prices of gasoline. The best thing that could happen to help bring down the price of oil would be for the US to get our stupid asses out of Iraq.
