1. Task Force Lightening? Did some incredible putz think that clever name
would turn those poor troops into Super Heros? Make them invincible?

That crap describes the whole mind-set of these assholes, from Shock and Awe down to the Surge. Clever namees, a lot of hype. But a war and occupation run by chicken shits who haven't a clue.

Meanwhile Jenna (and as someone referred to here once) Not-Jenna continue to party on.

3. In Chenybush universe it as all about perception, with reality
having no real role in the story.

The world is coming apart and these pre-adolescent boys are playing games. Have I mentioned, lately, how much I detest these sorry excuses for human beings?

2. Wasn't msrnc's main man, Brian Williams, motoring around
Iraq, with only a junior general and a well armored armed-to-the-teeth helicopter, and a major complement of ground forces and hardware allowing him to make bush's butt polishing reports in his shirtsleeves?

He was putting a major effort into demonstrating that, although the "surge" was in its infancy, the concept of fear in numbers was keeping the insurgents at bay, peace was at hand, and all was right in bushworld.

I thought it was a dirty trick, with the least rabid wingy m$m outlet undermining the democratic resistance to yet another stupid, ill considered escalation.

4. That was the first thing I thought
while watching BBC this morning. There was Brian Williams telling us how he was on a corner and this hadn't been possible before. Poor Brian can't bear the attention Bob Woodruff is getting for his near death experience.
