3. ko quoted some poem: ...... "sweet prince"
oh please!

kucinich question re ufos so everyone thinks dennis is fucking nuts

tweety said (from paris) he asked him about the war before the war and tim said hey, if they have nuclear weapons we have to go in there. so he bought the shit and helped fucking cheney sell his wares.

i watched a half hour of "coverage" -- had to go out, saw fifteen more minutes before olbermann. olbermann was apparently nonstop and i turned him off at half past.

russert might have been a nice/great friend to these people but hardly the hard-hitting and fair wizard they're making him out to be.

9. He wasn't the "saint" that GE/NBC/MSNBC/CNBC is making him out to be...for sure...
and..frankly, Peter Jennings deserved more of a Eulogy..for being a "real reporter" than Russert who was a "glorified, bloviating Pundit, who had an ego that was as large as his girth.

I'm sorry to see anyone die so suddenly...only in his late 50's who seemed an "institution" and who was so familiar to so many.

But, agree, that he wasn't a Saint...and to carry on they way the Media is doing...makes me really wonder WHY St. Russert was so important.

Still...Condolences to his family.

12. no, let's not even give one half a day to a guy who
died suddenly.

It's much more productive to bitch and belittle him.

we are a sad example of human'kind'.

peace~

11. you may want to remember-
you go poop too.

And the people who choose to focus on that when you die are pretty sad.

Death scares people. It's better to villify the dead- that way you can feel even more distanced from your inevitable date with it.

peace~

16. here's what drives me crazy.
that after someone dies they suddenly become the most perfect person who lived.

people turn them into saints--(why? to make themselves feel better? less guilty? to help them grieve?)

well, these "saints" were people. they were human. and had imperfections.

russert pissed me off a lot with his sucking up to the gop and his lame ass way of letting cheney get away with saying whatever the fuck he wanted to, and then selling it to america because he was supposed to be a "trusted" face on television.

why should people who felt like i did turn so fucking hypocritical and suddenly start saying we thought he was great?

you may want to remember people who died went "poop too"

17. there is a time
to talk about the poop of the dead. For many people that time doesn't come while the body of the deceased is still warm.

I would NEVER say that any person was a 'saint'- not even Mother Theresa- but I would not bring up some of the issues I had about some of her actions and deeds on the day she died.

Death scares the shit out of people. It brings out some pretty odd emotions. Tim Russert is being used as a scape goat by SOME people here, who are just plain angry and scared.

No one is asking you to think Tim was a 'saint'- no one is telling you YOUR feeling isn't VALID- Your OP is telling those who feel Tim was a really good man, that they are wrong. They didn't do that- they were glorifing the life of someone who left this earth suddenly today.

Can we not give them room for that?

peace~

18. guess it's a matter of perception here.
seems like a lot of people (especially on msnbc) thought he was next to god (how will we go on? how can we have the election without him? we won't know what to do next)
and non stop coverage. (without any other news)

(i wasn't aware des moines was evacuated. were you?)

i don't see why people can't be honest about a person if there is no emotional/direct attachment involved in the relationship. i didn't love the guy, i didn't know him, he was a media figure in my life. a public figure.

i didn't pretend to be sad when reagan died.

i'll probably celebrate when * drops dead.

how many days do we have to wait before we can say--wait a minute. he wasn't perfect. he did a lot of things that pissed us off. two days? five days? three months? why?

oh, and why do people who never liked someone all of a sudden take a real shine to them once they are dead? i guess i don't understand how/why we delude ourselves. is it a guilt thing?

13. Remember this. He showed up on crutches to testify
in the Libby trial. Some kind of accident...I'm neutral in my feelings on his death. I admit I was surprised by the news.
IMO he was a paid propagandist.:scared: It may send a message to other 'propagandists' JMHO.

15. Russert was a professional scumbag
But that doesn't mean he wasn't a nice guy. I feel sorry for those whose lives he touched--he really did seem like a straight up guy--but no-one can make me believe that he wasn't an extremely biased propagandist.
