From Froomkin....(Bush and his "grief").
Two words: bovine and excrement.

Tornado Visit

Sheryl Gay Stolberg writes in Sunday's New York Times: "President Bush picked his way through the rubble of the tornado-stricken South on Saturday, promising federal aid for some Alabamians and turning up unexpectedly in a largely African-American neighborhood here in Georgia, where startled residents rushed out of their damaged houses, cell phone cameras in hand, to greet him."

Lance Griffin writes in the Dothan (Ala.) Eagle: "Tears trickled down the cheeks of the President of the United States as he met with the families of the nine people who died during Thursday's tornado that devastated .

"The meeting happened inside Hillcrest Baptist Church after President Bush toured the high school's storm damage. The media was not present for the meeting, but Alabama Gov. Bob Riley confirmed Bush was visibly shaken.

"'When you're around this game, you get to the point to where you can discern if the grief is real,' Riley said after Bush left Enterprise Regional Airport on his way to Americus, Ga., to tour more storm damage. 'I tell you, there were tears streaming down his cheeks.'

1. 'I tell you, there were tears streaming down his cheeks.'
Sure there were tears, not because of the devastation that he saw, but because of the money he's going to have to give to rebuild.

That's less money that he can give to his army of boot lickers and neocons!!!!!

3. I think you nailed it on the head!
No doubt * just promised one of his cronies or special interests a huge influx of cash, and now he's going to have to find a way to pay for the poor people's tornado damage.

And he still needs another $98 billion for Iraq.

And now this Army hospital debacle...

...Oh my, when will it ever end for our fearless leader?

IMPEACH! IMPEACH!! IMPEACH!!!

Katrina was the first wake up call for America - our first glimpse into how this misadministration is really running things.

And now we have Walter Reed.

Do we need to actually see the statue fall and crush the person to understand how they died? The evidence is everywhere!!

2. tears for himself
reagan used to feel sorry for individuals, too, but had no probelm fucking over a group of individuals.

we can make it to january 2009, but climbing out of the holes bush has dug will take the rest of my lifetime, estimated to end in 2050.

thanks for voting for bush twice, mom & dad!

4. So he's a weepy drunk.
Doesn't mean he's going to do a damn thing for those people.

5. Tears only trickled down his cheeks? Really? Not a steady flow?
Interesting.
