1. ???
I was hoping we didn't lose the Speaker of the House.

Why would someone deliberately vote that much power away?

in Davis' district.

30. They won't get really close elections or lose unless they manage to piss off most a large number of
their constituents.

untested freshman? Kind of a no-brainer, if you ask me.

Pelosi's speakership has not been a benefit to San Francisco.

28. Does that argument apply also to a "Republican with experience"?
No comparison politically between Pelosi and the Republicans, of course, except that she saved their asses from having to worry about the Constitution or the law. Remember that.

29. I resigned myself to the fact that this Congress won't take action.
What I wonder is, will the Democrats go on the offensive if they take clear majorities in the next Congress along with control of the WH and DOJ? I'll be bitterly disappointed if they let these criminals off the hook, yet again.

12. Pelosi would be acting differently if Golub had a 10 million dollar war chest
Then Pelosi would have thought twice about taking impeachment off the table and continuing to acquiesce on the war.

Democracy would be better served if elections were publicly funded. The current campaign finance system is a disadvantage to poorer candidates and poorer constituents in general.

21. Golub raised over $100,000, ran TV and raido ads, and was featured in newspaper articles
11% is a pretty pathetic total.

23. So, she gets reelected. Big whoop.
She hasn't done much to keep the current president accountable, so far. Don't think she'll do much to follow up on the crimes, misadventures, weakening of the Constitution, affirmation of an Imperial Presidency, etc on the outgoing administration come her next term, either.

Frankly, you can have Pelosi. She's just another accommodating, corporate hack.

and 34.5% in Marin. It's a pity more people don't vote.
