9. It just wasn't the time and place to use colloquialisms.
Maybe no harm was meant -- I doubt he really knew what he was saying -- but it was just so inappropriate. It's a "no-brainer" to pull a struggling pitcher from the mound late in the game. It's a "correct choice" when one determines the best place to go for life-and-death surgery.
It never fails to amaze me just how poor command most newspeople have of language and syntax anymore.
