Fox and Friends’ Carlson warns McClellan: He ‘better not have any skeletons in his closet.’

This morning, Fox and Friends discussed former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan’s tell-all book above a chyron reading “Lack of Credibility.” Co-host Gretchen Carlson warned that McClellan’s “skeletons” would be exposed now that he has “betrayed” the president:

CARLSON: Scott McClellan better not have any skeletons in his closet. I hope he didn’t do anything that he doesn’t want the world to know about because we all have, and all of his secrets are going to be coming out.

Appearing on Fox’s Hannity and Colmes last night, conservative strategist Mary Matalin said, “To quote my husband recently, this is Judas on steroids.”

3. Isn't that charming!
I suppose they'll out him now. Whatever. Not like that was a big secret.

Didn't Carlson used to be a beauty pageant queen? Seriously, am I remembering that right?

Just another in the long parade of blonde bimbos that FOX dresses up in thigh high skirts and plunging necklines to be the female face on FOX and Friends.

I'm convinced that F&F was a deliberate "goof" on the part of Murdoch to see just how low one could lower the standards of journalism and still have people turn in to watch.

4. What could possibly be worse than his role in selling the war in Iraq?
What could be worse than his role in selling the deaths of our troops and all the innocent Iraqis to provide profit for some corporate patrons of cheney's?

Don't feign ignorance, Scotty. WE knew it was all a lie and what would happen. You had more info than we did.

5. That sounds like a threat, really. Rove to Ailes to the Fox Cheerleaders.
Frankly, I don't care if McClellan is a serial criminal--we know he's rocked the Administration to its foundation.

Edited on Thu May-29-08 09:51 AM by LynnTheDem
Will the rightwingnuts spend any time debating the facts of what McClellen said? Of course not! Why waste their wee minds on that when they can just carry on attacking the messenger!

15. Has this book actually come out yet?
Edited on Thu May-29-08 09:56 AM by Stagecoach
They're probably trying to use a threat to cause the publisher to change their minds about releasing it. In other words, "If you want to protect Scotty's reputation, you'd better not release this book!" Fair and balanced....pfft! Funny how they don't look at it from Scotty's point of view, if they're so fair and balanced.

18. It doesn't matter. The book is in print a few days/weeks before release date (5/28/08)
and distributors and the mega-bookstores would vigorously fight any recall.

It's been done but it's EXTREMELY rare (the OJ Simpson fiction book is the only one I can recall in recent memory) and that was a already a very odd case.

(I used to work in the book biz as both a retailer and librarian.)

20. My guess is that Scott still holds the Jeffy Gannon Gukert card close.
He's got pictures. I'm sure of that. Scottie, I know that you knew what this war was about, we all did. This book does not vindicate you. That said, be safe.
