Medical marijuana: How much is enough?
Edited on Wed May-21-08 11:41 PM by HuffleClaw
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/health/2004428213_potsupply21m.html

"A state Health Department proposal that medical-marijuana patients be allowed more than 2 pounds of pot every two months took law enforcement by surprise and prompted the governor to tell health officials to start over... ...Cowlitz County Sheriff Bill Mahoney says the whole issue is now "very, very difficult for law enforcement to deal with" because nobody knows what constitutes a 60-day supply.

"From my standpoint as a sheriff, I just need the state to step up and define it. I don't care what the number is."

But, he adds: "Most of our cops, if they were forced to come up with a number, they'd say 3 ounces.""

- just a teensy disparity there.

NOTE: i put this in GD because i wasn't sure if it was LBN or not

1. shouldn;t it be how ever much you need? Maybe some people do require 2 pounds
that seems like a shitload but hey if someone is in that much pain it thats' what works and keeps the food down then they should have it and maybe some people only need 3 ounces?

but yes, the numbers on that are pretty far apart.

2. One ounce makes over thirty good sized doobies
That's enough for a month or two. But I guess I've slowed down a bit.

7. How about whatever the doctor prescribes?
I thought they had latitude when it comes to other drugs, so why should pot be any different?

10. How about we just legalize it and end this ridiculous Drug War?
Oh, right, that would make too much sense.

11. It's free prescription drug coverage
You get to sell it to your friends without prescriptions. Most people can't afford medical marijuana and their insurance, if they have any, will not cover it. It makes sense to me for local officials to quietly give them a way to finance their medication without any harm to anyone (the recreational users would otherwise buy from criminals).

12. I just started taking some pretty bad meds
...have Psoriatic arthritis and it is over 30% of my body. can't get disability, but they can give me basically a chemotherapy med (1/2 dose) The stomach stuff is awful, and I am already a pot smoker for depression, and the pain factor.
I only need about 1/8 per week to get by... so that's what? 1/2 oz per month?

if that's what I need on this stuff, I can't imagine what cancer patients go through...must be lots more, though
It should be legal no matter what. Pot is NOT the enemy...it is another "war on something" to create jobs and profits for the nazi/police/DEA under the Bush regime.

just my $ .02
