2. No love lost for Tweety here, but some people are simply bouncing stuff back at us.
I'm curious . . . been thinking ever since HC said this: If you switch the phrases, make it "White" working men and womean, does it have a different effect? Since you just say, in effect, I'm talking about "White" people in the same way that people talk about "race" groups all of the time - and then go on to specify those "Whites" who are working women and working women, yada, yada . . . does that change the effect of the message?

6. Didn't she also kind of pause a couple of times while she was saying it?
Interesting that.

7. She paused and filled in the words white w/o college degrees I think.
She needed to specify it in that much detail to be accurate. If she left the statement hardworking men and women it would have been an absolute lie easily fact checked.

8. Stoking the fires of Class War in addition to Racism.
It's ironic that we actually DO NEED to talk about Class in this country. Question is can we pull anything constructive out of it. That will depend upon HOW the Grassroots go about having this discussion.

9. BTW, with the data collection tools they have at their disposal today, simply "bouncing stuff back"
CAN be measured for effect, e.g. for responses; it CAN therefore be a measure of sensitivity. And believe me, guys like Tweety get their marching orders every day.

3. They Are Just Getting Started. We Will See Every Racist Stereotype Trotted Out
Of course it will hurt their ratings, but they don't care about ratings when there are Repiglickins to elect.

Write to his advertisers when this happens. Demand that they stop supporting this swill with their advertising dollars.

Boycotts and threats of boycotts won't stop them, but it will cost them.

10. Absolutely! We haven't seen anything yet! Be ready for when Obama takes on McCheney.
Ready = find your Grasroots community.

5. I work hard....how do they define working men and women
Do they mean that anyone who has a college degree or is voting for Obama is independently wealthy and lazy? If so they are really out of touch.

11. Tweety is irrelevant! People, stop watching these horrible troglodytes.
Go pick some flowers in a field, enjoy life and nature. Wasting precious life seconds on The Tweety makes no sense.

12. Short story by Romain ROLLAND
In the run-up to the Nazi grabbing of power, this most civilized professor could see the barbarity, and couldn't bear it, and he shut himself up with his books, his art, and his music. And because so many good people did the same thing in their different ways, the Nazis took power.

Another way of saying it is, keep your friends close but your enemies closer.

Or, when good people do nothing, barbarians win.

I'll be back with more quotes...
