Here's an Email I received from my right leaning relative and my response.
There was an article in the Wall Street Journal on Cindy McCain,
John"s wife. All I ever saw was this attractive woman standing beside
John. I was surprised how talented and involved with world problems
she
is. This is a summary of the article.
>
> She graduated from Southern Cal and was a special-needs
teacher.
>
> After her Dad died she became involved with his beer distributing
firm
and is now the chairwoman. Sales have doubled since she has taken over
from her father.
>
> They have a marriage prenuptial agreement, her assets remain
separate.
>
> She is involved around the world clearing land mines - travels to
these countries on a detonation team and service on their board.
>
> They have a 19 year old serving in Iraq, another son in the Naval
Academy, a daughter recently graduated from Columbia Univ., an adopted
daughter in high school, and a son who is the finance guy at the beer
firm.
>
> Raised kids in Phoenix, Az rather than Washington DC.(better
atmosphere) He commuted.
>
> In 1991,
>
> Mrs. McCain came across a girl in an orphanage in Bangladesh. Mother
Teresa implored Mrs. McCain to take the baby with severe cleft palate.
She did so without first telling her husband. The couple adopted the
girl who has had a dozen operations to repair her cleft palate and
other
medical problems.
>
>
>
> They have a Family Foundation for children's causes.
>
> She's active with "Halo Trust" - to clear land mines, provide water
and food in war ravaged and developing countries.
>
> She will join an overseas mission of "Operation Smile", a charity for
corrective surgery on children's faces.
>
> She has had two back surgeries and became addicted to pain killers.
She talks openly about it which she says is part of the recovery
process.
>
>
>
> I'm surprised the media is so quiet about her attributes. She sounds
more capable than Hillary or Obama. We would really get two for the
price of one. A person with business and international experience.
John did work for the firm for awhile when he left the Navy. She,
however, has the real business experience. Very interesting

MY RESPONSE!

Wow, that IS interesting. When John McCain met Cindy in 1979 when she was 25 and he was married and 42, the former cheerleader and heir to a multi million dollar beer distributorship must have been quite the temptation for poor John chained by marriage to an aging, overweight ex model. A few of the links below, which I found after being inspired by your email to look more deeply into Cindy, show what an interesting woman she is. Looks like another Bill and Hillary in the Whitehouse if its John and Cindy. Will make for great fun for the press and everybody else interested in the more sordid aspects for life rather than moving the USA away from a crazy war for oil that went terribly wrong, $4.00 gasoline, a plunging dollar, and a failed healthcare system.

Here's some more crazy stuff I found! Yikes!

Ever wonder how John didn't notice Cindy McCain's drug use over the years? There's also a lot we don't know about how he used his influence to keep her from going to trial after her arrest for stealing drugs. I'm sure that all the rightwing law-and-order types would be screaming from the roof tops if the wife of a Democrat were let off the hook because of family connections locally. But there always seem to be different rules for the rich and well-connected, don't there?

Is there anything new first lady Cindy McCain <http://wonkette.com/376849/john-mccain-called-wife-awful-word-that-rhymes-with-hunt-and-punt> won't steal? The beer heiress <http://wonkette.com/375743/mccain-will-be-president-because-his-current-wife-runs-beernascar-industry> stole husband John McCain back when he was relatively young and handsome and needed a new wife, she stole dope pills <http://wonkette.com/politics/dept'-of-two-for-the-price-of-one/meet-your-new-first-lady--just-kidding-270631.php> from her own medical charity, she furtively brought home some orphans from Bangladesh one time, she continues to steal "stray" dogs, <http://wonkette.com/364883/old-man-mccain-just-hates-when-cindy-brings-home-strays> and now the Cougar Baroness is accused of stealing recipes <http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-weiner/mccain-family-recipes-lif_b_96666.html> from the Food Network!
A New York attorney was searching Google for some recipe by famous Food Network chef Giada DeLaurentis — this is what attorneys call "billable hours" — when she found those same exact recipes on John McCain's website, ridiculously labeled as "Cindy's Recipes." <>
The stolen recipes ("Ahi Tuna with Napa Cabbage," "Passion Fruit Mousse," etc.) include word-for-word rip-offs of at least three Food Network recipes, along with another plagiarized from teevee cooking lady Rachel Ray. <http://wonkette.com/politics/notag/newsweek-celebrates-americas-hottest-powerful-women-308251.php>
Silly Cindy. Everybody knows the only "recipe" she uses is Percocet and Ketel One.

9. Good grief,
give the woman SOME credit. Kudos to anyone who has done works such as she.
A helluva lot more than I can say I have.

I heard a long time ago about the child she brought home from Bangladesh who probably would have died had it not been for her.

Sheesh, must we hate everybody no matter what?

6. Still, SHE IS NOT THE ONE RUNNING
I don't fault her for being young and bedazzled by the son of an Admiral turned war hero by virtue of surviving a POW camp. I think she's like most of us, a mixed bag who probably does the best she can with what she knows.

However, she's not running. Her husband is, and I have serious problems with a man who mentions dealing with the League of Nations and says Czechoslovakia needs nuclear protection. Clearly this man is living in the past at best and is likely showing early signs of dementia.

He is unqualified for the presidency, even a GOP presidency where he won't be expected to do anything but recite speeches from a teleprompter.

...what's her involvement in the Keating scandal and what did he do to get her out of it?

7. Cindy McCain is a drug kingpin
In a rational world alcohol would be at least as illegal as heroin.

Cindy McCain is a major wholesaler of alcohol.
