McCain: "The American people are angry too and they’re not going to take it anymore"

http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/05/07/politics/fromtheroad/entry4078048.shtml

ROCHESTER, MICH. – An energetic crowd at Oakland University here grilled John McCain on his temper and on the war in Iraq.

A young man told McCain his temper was of concern to him, to which McCain joked, “How dare you ask that question?”

“Take that microphone away from him,” McCain continued, to laughter from the audience. The questioner began to read a quote from Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., who said that McCain “worries” him because of his temper.

“I’m familiar with the quote,” McCain said. “But if you’d like to repeat it again, please do so.”

The man kept reading, which prompted another audience member on the other side of the room to call out, “He’s passionate!”

“Look, I will confess to you that I get angry,” McCain said. “I get angry when I saw a guy named Abramoff that ripped off Native Americans for millions and millions and millions of dollars and people ended up, including him, in federal prison. I get angry when I see 233 million of your tax dollars going to a bridge to an island with 50 people on it. And that’s your dollars.”

“And you know something? The American people are angry too and they’re not going to take it anymore,” McCain continued. “They’re mad and they’ve lost their temper.” The crowd cheered and applauded as McCain became more and more energized. “These town hall meetings, ask them if they’re not mad! Ask them. Ask them the way their tax dollars and spending has gone completely out of control,” he said.

So he's mad the Abramoff is in prison?

Is McSame angry about that?

He's pissed that Abramoff went to prison? How utterly UNsurprising that the utterly stupidest of the Keating Five would say such a thing...

Edit: If every boneheaded remark our own candidates make is worthy of the Greatest, the opposition ought to be too, so I Recommended this!

14. Given that he then skewered the Bridge to Nowhere I think the Abrahoff bit is a run on sentence.
Either that, or he shifted gears midway through and didn't complete the first part of the thought.

Given his take on the Bridge to Nowhere it's pretty out there to think he's actually miffed about Abramoff being in prison.

18. McCain's whitewash of Abramoff
Jack Abramoff: John McCain’s other Lobbyist problem...

It makes it possible that McCain’s Abramoff Cover-up will become an issue in the 2008 campaign.

19. Boy, you all are really stretching it. This in no way is a gaffe.
Bad grammar, but not a gaffe. This probably is going to be on all the local newscasts in Michigan tonight, and will make McCain look good.

When McCain makes another actual gaffe, get back to me.

20. Begging to differ--and so is Merriam-Webster (you know, the dictionary people):
gaffe
One entry found.

gaffe

Main Entry: gaffe
Pronunciation: \ˈgaf\
Function: noun
Etymology: French, gaff, gaffe
Date: 1909
1 : a social or diplomatic blunder
2 : a noticeable mistake

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/gaffe

While you are educating yourself, would you care to define mistake--as in the one you just made?

22. He's MADD because...

MADD...Because he can run, but he can't hide, from the sorry BushCo record that he sees nothing at all wrong with. Wouldn't change a thing... What John is trying to say, is that all the government's rottenness is the fault of congress and not BushCo Inc. The old blame game trick. Won't be long before John starts blaming the Clenis for the fall of Saigon.

Brother John is passing out tons of Fool-Aide and the faithful suckers are sucking it up just like brother bush had made it himself!
