I could have driven away not paying for $68 in gas a couple hours ago.
Filled up my wagon then went inside and grabbed a 12 pack of beer from the cooler and set it on the counter, tossed a credit card down and was perusing magazines waiting for the clerk. She passed the slip over to me for signature and I noticed it was $9.27. "Did you miss the gas out there on number 5?" I asked...

"Oh", she replied, "I didn't notice"

Not sure what to think about that.

1. Well, just think that you are an honest person
and maybe you will prompt her to notice next time.

4. All the regular gas is sold out in my area.
I suspect it will cost about $50+ to fill up, if I ever find some. :(

7. Filled up both cars yesterday
My Neon took $35 and my Jeep took $55.
The Neon gets about 36-38 MPG and the Jeep gets 22 MPG.
I will tell you I miss the room in my Jeep but I am REALLY starting to love the Neon.

15. My 1990 Astro Van went belly up last week due to a poorly done reapir (two years ago!).
I was getting 20 to 25 miles a gallon, but with a twenty gallon tank, it was very expensive to fill it up.

Today, I filled the tank on my new car, a Chevy Aveo. It gets 37 mpg. I had a quarter of a tank of gas and it cost me $24 and some odd change to fill it up with medium... But it only has a nine gallon tank.

10. The attendant pays for "drive-offs" out of their own checks.
Had you not paid, it would have been taken out of her pay check.

14. Absolutely. They don't make much... probably about minimum wage. Having that deducted
can make a huge difference.

I'm glad you pointed it out.

11. I know what to think ...... you're knee-jerkedly honest
As are most people, really.

We might get larcenous when we think about things, but our instinct is to be honest.

Be proud of that. Don't question it. "Honest" will never be the wrong choice.

13. For the past three or more years, here, we have to prepay for gas or used a debit or credit card.
When gas went over $2.00, the honor system whent out the window along with fill ups.

17. She didn't hear the bell when you finished pumping and you
paid the bill as you're supposed to do! :D

I usually tell them, up front, the pump # and the amount.
There's no pre-pay here during the day and I could fill-up
and drive off anytime, if I wanted to, but I wouldn't.

You're apparently an honest person. You must be a Democrat! :P
