Poll question: Randi Rhodes... and Listerine
How do you see her now?

Personally, I'm an Obama supporter who would love to see her marginalized because her views on lots of things OTHER than who's a better presidential candidate diverge with my own. Her message, her delivery, and her attitude toward callers she views as less informed than herself really bother me. But, I must confess; I listen when I can. Not for the reasons you might think. I listen for the same reason people driving on the highway slow down when they see the highway flares... There's a wreck ahead, and I wanna see how bad it is.

She's a detriment to the cause. When I first heard her show, I told everyone I knew that they should listen. It was like I told them there was this restaurant... Little known and the best food in town! And when the reviews came in? There was a fly in the soup!

Granted, the percentage of voters who listen to her as compared to the percentage of those who will vote is infinitesimal, but hey, are we in this to get a PROGRESSIVE candidate elected, or what?

I think she turns people off. Good progressives who see the glass as half-full don't like her.

Honestly, I don't care if she comes back or not. Guess my preference.

So I ask this question: How is Randi to YOU?

I'm on the road tomorrow to Idaho to bury my grandmother who died this morning at 2 a.m., so I may not be back on this thread for a couple of days, and by then I expect it to be dead. That doesn't mean I'm not curious...

4. I think some of your points are valid,
but I guess I would say she is the hate I love to taste, or at least she is the hate I would love to taste. Fact is, she is just so damn cute! I suppose I'm a wretch, but hey! Whatever works!

5. None of the above.
Randi appears to have personal issues at the very least which may require a 12-Step Program. Her behavior has become unpredictable.

7. Depending how you ponder the points she might be more sane than most
Besides 12 steps are for people think they need something bigger than themselves to cope

6. She is a prime example of what hate does to a person
Which is too bad because I have loved that girl for many years.

9. Just the same
Randi Rhodes has hosted her own three-hour talk show on Air America since its inception a little over three years ago. During that time - anyone who has listened to her knows that she is politically astute, always prepared on the issues, extremely opinionated, and very passionate about what she does and the message she wants to deliver. Although, on occasion, she can also be rude, abrasive and doesn't hesitate to cut off a caller that she has tired of trying to bring around to her point of view. However ... she has never used inappropriate language on the air.

That being said - she is the best draw that Air America Radio has.

Love her or hate her - without her ... kiss AAR goodbye.

17. I love her. She sells truth and rationality and is very
very well informed. You may not like her style, but kicking those who are on your side is a stupid, counterproductive thing to do.

10. Umm....Neither?
I frequently find Randi too abrasive and just plain obnoxious for my personal tastes, but I also find her to be quite informative. She obviously puts in a lot of time doing research for her show and always has her facts in order. Although, lately, that seems to have taken a backseat to Hillary-bashing. (And I'm an Obama supporter saying this.)

So, I guess what I'm saying is that Randi is a mixed bag, usually worth listening to, but sometimes hard to take.

OK, so she has her rough moments. She is no saint but she is very informed on the issues and is a passionate supporter of progressive ideas.

I enjoy listening to her and her spin-outs, though few, add excitement to the show.

I like listening to her and I think Air America overreacted. She did a Lenny Bruce routine at a night club and some people objected. She wasn't on the air and she defamed public figures not private individuals.

That said, your poll doesn't seem to include a vote if you enjoy listening to her.

12. Randi has a lot of fans. Out of all her fans, I'm not one of them. But, the last
thing I want is her to be silenced or taken off the air for speaking the truth about a certain candidate. She should tell Air America management to go take a flying hike and join Nova M.

it seems hrc supporters are catching the same mental illness she is believing the need to destroy the party in order to save it. Now we have people wanting to destroy AAR's talker w/ the highest ratings in a format that is already living on the edge of oblivion in order to save it. News flash, "Air DLC" isn't going to survive unless Mark Green wants to buy the stations too and absorb the losses.

14. Randi isn't hate. What is being done to her is.
Along with a heavy dose of hypocrisy.

15. So What is Randi?????
For better or worse Randi has one of the sharpest, fastest minds and "wit" in politics, stir in some Brooklyn attitude and she can be extremely blunt and abrasive. To Randi there is no grey area, everything is either black or white, a polarizing radio personality who sometimes is hard to swallow but almost always right and that is what frustrates listeners the most. It's all in the delivery, it's all about the way her brain fires, totally unique, like her or not that is what makes her special and as much as I respect her, I sometimes even find myself turning the dial for a whole fifteen minutes. She is a real patriot and we are lucky to have her...... Randi, if you are ever in Southern California, give me a call..............
