Alphonso Jackson's Greatest Hits- Remixed
In honor of our esteemed (insert joke here) Agriculture Secretary who resigned today, allow me to present Alphonso Jackson's greatest hits- just remixed, lol.

1. During the 2004 Presidential campaign, Alphonso Jackson explained he was consulting with Karl Rove and the Bush campaign, and that they were targeting their message to African-Americans under 40 who didn't come up during the civil rights movement:

"You can't rise as a class. You have to rise individually. It's what many of the civil rights-era people don't understand. They want us to rise together, they keep telling us that we are victims. If they keep telling us they are victims, then there is a role for them to play."

Whoa...what a scary thought, right Mr. Jackson? Those of us in the African-American community looking out for each other and rising as a class! Making sure that as we rise, we bring others up with us. Perish the thought!!!

2. In 2006, speaking before a Dallas audience and telling them he cancelled the contract for a minority business group because they didn't support George W. Bush. He later recanted and said he made up the story...that it was apocryphal. Yea, OK.

"He made a heck of a proposal and was on the list, so we selected him. He came to see me and thank me for selecting him. Then he said something ... he said, 'I have a problem with your president'". I thought to myself, 'Brother, you have a disconnect -- the president is elected, I was selected. You wouldn't be getting the contract unless I was sitting here. If you have a problem with the president, don't tell the secretary. Why should I reward someone who doesn't like the president, so they can use funds to try to campaign against the president? Logic says they don't get the contract. That's the way I believe."

This man has been an embarrassment to our country. I'm glad to see him go.
