HUMAN privilege and rights.
I remember as a young child, six years old, playing with my friend, Lissie (sp?). She was just my best friend. We took the bus to and from school, together. We held hands as we went down to the creek to collect little shells or stones or crawdads or rocks.

We traveled to one another's homes to "hey" to whomever was present and snack on whatever was available. We played "house", threw rocks at cars (yes, we threw rocks at cars). We gave care to my dog's babies; working together to make the puppies comfortable with any rag and cardboard we could find.

We were friends.

She was killed crossing the road to get to the school bus.

She was a person with more color to her skin than me.

We were friends. I never thought about the fact her skin was darker than mine. Why would I think about that?

I was born in '62, was mobile, and had no clue until the 70's about human hatefulness and division.

I still do not understand why people are so crazy over small stuff rather than meaningful life.

From my experience, the huge majority of human beings are paddling through an oppressive environment with no discrimination, returning us to a class existence.

The 'powers that be' advantage off perceived divisions, ALWAYS.

Meanwhile, the REST OF US WANT RECONCILIATION.

I believe we HAVE reconciled and want to go forward, WITH SOME SENSE OF SOCIAL JUSTICE IN OUR BELTS.

I think this administration FORCED doubt and division FOR A PURPOSE,...

What do you think?

1. This is a great line that means more now than it ever has.
"I still do not understand why people are so crazy over small stuff rather than meaningful life."

Thank you for that quote.

4. Actually, I do accept there are those obsessed with control and power.
They get immediate results.

How they live with imposing horror upon the most loyal and hard-working among us,...is INcredible.

3. My best friend in kindergarten had my same first name
I loved going to her house and playing and I thought her parents were neat. My dad took us to Joyland, the local amusement park, where we rode the rides together. I was really sad when I went to first grade, because I had to go to another school. You see, this was 1956, and kindergarten was not offered in all schools. I went to the kindergarten of the school where my mother taught, and then had to go to my neighborhood school for higher grades. I was sad to leave the kindergarten school and my best friend. We called each other "Vanilla Ayesha" and "Chocolate Ayesha" and that was extent of the differences between us, as far as we were concerned.
