Edited on Fri Mar-21-08 06:36 PM by marmar
She real, real cra-zee!

from ThinkProgress:

Reyes: Bachmann used retracted statement to attack Democrats.»

In a Star Tribune op-ed, House Intelligence Committee chairman Sylvestre Reyes (D-TX) took issue with a March 14 op-ed by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) which attacked House Democrats for not passing the Senate version of Protect America Act. As Reyes noted, in order to make her argument, Bachmann referenced a quote from the Bush administration official that had since been retracted:

The expiration of the so-called “Protect America Act” (PAA) has not degraded our nation’s intelligence collection capability. Bachmann chose to quote the director of national intelligence in his Feb. 5 testimony to support her argument, but on Feb. 23 the administration had to issue a retraction of those statements, stating that the government is now getting full cooperation from telecommunications companies and that the authorities of the PAA remain in full effect.

Reyes said that he “finds it troubling that” Bachmann “chose to use a subsequently retracted statement in lobbying on a matter of such importance.”

9. If you're from Oregon, this explanation may work for you:
She's like former S.W. Washington Rep. Linda Smith, only not as intelligent or sane.

2. She's pathetic. She is typically reThuglican and lies, uses smear
tactics and fear-mongering to advance her untenable position; it's all the Pukes can do...they have nothing else.
She's an embarrassment to our fair state.

3. Michele Bachmann is batshit crazy. Barking mad.
Edited on Fri Mar-21-08 06:41 PM by ocelot
She's the same raving loon who lurked along the aisle before last year's SOTU address and pounced on Bush and sort of groped him while she beamed insanely, like she was a 13-year-old in the presence of her fave boy band. A couple of years ago she was photographed hiding behind a hedge to avoid confronting some gay rights protesters, and also claimed she was ambushed by angry lesbians in a ladies' room. Michele is Minnesota's version of Katherine Harris, only more fundie and less inclined to wave her bazooms around. And she is not only completely nuts, she's also as dumb as a box of hammers.

4. More weird, false, and silly than Harris. And Harris is a better acktress. To surpass Harris
is quite amazing. Jeanne Schmidt is right up there - make that down there.

6. Hey, quit picking on her. God told her to run for Congress.
Seriously, as a Minnesotan, I have absolutely no idea why the people in her district voted for her. I can only fervently hope that they've come to regret it and will vote for someone else this November.

7. God did not tell her to run until after she and her husband prayed and fasted over the question
Unlike Bush who apparently has direct pipeline to the Almighty, Michelle must first jump through some hoops before He'll speak to her.

She also says that her husband, Marcus, picks out all her clothes and has "fabulous" (her word) taste. I sometimes wonder if this has something to do with her homophobia

She wasn't named the official batshit crazy congresswoman of the Stephanie Miller show for no good reason.

11. No hoops, only her husband. Like a good subservient wife she does as her
husband tells her - according to her - and he was the one who decided she should run for Congress.

Ugh...

12. She's a homophobic psycopath who's in a district with a LOT of stupid voters.
Her political career needs to die screaming, and Bachmann needs to be reduced to a small footnote of Minnesota political history.

13. I hate driving through her district
There are Pro-Life billboards all along the state highways. If their weren't so many great fishing spots north of her district I would bypass it altogether.

14. She's certifiable
Let's not forget another incident of her craziness.

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/01/24/rep-michele-bachmann-hearts-bush/

While the President was signing autographs for members of Congress after the speech, the sixth-district Republican put her hand on Bush's shoulder. However, it wasn't just a tap. After he signed an autograph for her, Bachmann grabbed the president and did not let go for almost 30 seconds.

After signing the autograph for Bachmann, the president turns away, but Bachmann doesn't let go. In fact, the video shows her reaching out to get a better grip on him.

Bush then leans over to kiss another congresswoman, but Bachmann is still holding on. Bachmann then gets more attention, a kiss and an embrace from the president. A few seconds later, Bachmann's hand finally comes off the presidential shoulder.

15. Read all about her
http://articles.citypages.com/2006-10-04/news/the-chosen-one/full/

It's a detailed article written a month before her 2006 election to Congress by the local liberal weekly.

She's a power-hungry fundie nut in an compelling package. And she has suction-cups on her fingers.

17. She's in the most Republican district in MN.
If you want to keep her from being in the majority, you can donate to Congressman Tim Walz (D-MN) to help him to get elected to his second term in his swing district:
