Someone said that Bill Clinton is really tight with the Harlem community
Edited on Wed Mar-12-08 12:06 PM by hedgehog
because he has an office there.

If he's so tight with the Harlem community, how comes his house is in Chappaqua? Aren't there any nice houses in Harlem?

According to Mapquest, commuting distance is 30 miles and takes 41 minutes

Also:

Mapquest: Harlem to La Guardia: 6.1 miles, 11 minutes

Chappaqua to La Guardia: 35 Miles, 47 minutes

I would think Harlem would be a better spot for a Senator from New York to live.

1. Well, 125th street is getting nice and gentrified since he set up an office there...

2. Clinton administration and his Foundation
gave money for restoration in Harlem. His office is in Harlem. Bill Clinton has always been a friend to NY, which is more than I can say for the bush administration, especially after 9/11, when budget director Mitch Daniels literally made us beg for funds for clean up. That's why it's so sad to see it come down to this.

3. Sounds like you have a problem with Bill Clinton
Do you have a house in Harlem? If not why not? You seem to be the sort that just has to find something to bitch about..

4. I might, but then it's be a tough commute to Oswego. Plus I have a huge garden.
I don't think they let you keep chickens in Harlem, either.

6. You know, Bill didn't HAVE to locate his office in Harlem. Get a grip.

7. I don't think any neighborhood in New York would welcome or enjoy all the security that comes with
an ex-president.

10. How often do you think he is there? It's not like he's there every day making sales calls.
There is a staff that is there to handle things, but he doesn't punch a time card at the place.

11. So you're saying that having the office there is really a facade because
he's never there?

14. suggest some of you take a walking tour of Harlem
the renovations in the past few years are incredible. Real estate values have been going up. Federal monies from the Clinton administration certainly helped in that regard. Private contributions from his foundation didn't hurt either. Clinton didn't have to put his office there, but he did. And yes, he actually does show up. I don't think anyone is complaining about the restoration, Harlem was once a true jewel, and it's so nice to see it on its way again. A lot more to be done, but Harlem is on its way.
