Orwell Quote For The Day
So much of what he wrote is applicable to today.

"'What happened to the man?' said Winston.

'Ah, that I couldn't say, of course. But I wouldn't be altogether surprised if-' Parsons made the motion of aiming a rifle, and clicked his tongue for the explosion.

'Good,' said Syme abstractedly, without looking up from his strip of paper.

'Of course we can't afford to take chances,' agreed Winston dutifully.

'What I mean to say, there is a war on,' said Parsons."

1. Another quote that sums up our Iraq strategy
"We shall squeeze you empty, and then we shall fill you with ourselves. George Orwell 1984

Saw that quote in Naomi Klein's "The Shock Doctrine."

2. i have been finding quotes similarities in
my 1891 encyclopedia britannicas. early 1900 collections of orations, and bio of caligula i read years ago. dutifully put on my blog, but the latest in the Clement VII was TOO georgie.

(pope during Henry VIII vs Charles V, and luther). so says the EB-This administration affords PROOF that at eventful crisis of the world's history, MEDIOCRITY of CHARACTER is more disastrous than mediocrity of talent.

cept georgie is mediocre of both.
