4. On ABC's GMA this morning he said
"at this time" he had no plans - sounds open to me.

He didn't say "I will not run, I am not running"

6. "I don't have plans to run"
and "I plan not to run" do mean two different things. ("I have plans to run" and "I plan to run" do mean the same.)

8. He Could Certainly Be Definitive If He Wanted To Be
Obviously he doesn't, because he has other ideas in mind.

For example, I myself could say the following:

"I have no plans to visit Italy in 2007."

Fine, now what if I changed it around a bit, assuming I had no desire to go to Italy in the first place.

"I will not be visiting Italy in 2007."

In the latter, I'm basically stating, leave me alone....I'm not going to Italy this year. The former is saying that at this moment, I have no plans to go there, but if I decided to make some reservations, off I go.

Lots of wiggle room, methinks. If he wanted to be left alone, he would just say, "I'm not running in 2008."

scratch each other's eyes out and just when the public has had enough, in comes riding President Gore in his green hybrid. This should be one hell of a campaign.

12. Yep, let him wait until Sept. or Oct
By then he will have the SOS concerts all over the world and a possible Peace Prize.

Then he can waltz in as most Americans will already be sick and tired of the ones who are out there right now fighting it out.

I love that Gore #44.

14. Are you listening to Fugger as
he attacks Al Gore. I do hate that twit.

Gore#44 is not my original. Credit belongs to another DUer who developed it after I made the connection.

17. Until I hear a definitive NO and not these play on words
Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 06:28 PM by mtnester
I will not rule out his running.

I say to those who come out to beat down any hope many of us have that Gore will run:

Al Gore is not an idiot. He can speak in complex sentences, so a simple answer to the question "Will you be running for the office of president?" is..

"No, I am not and will not be running for the office of President of the United State in 2008"

This would be easy for him to say in order to clear up any misunderstandings or false hope any single person in this country may have. He could make it ABSOLUTELY and COMPLETELY clear in about 2.3 seconds.

So far, he has not done so and has done everything BUT say outright NO. He is playing a small word game right now...so my best guess is he is still at the very least, giving it consideration and listening to the thoughts and discussions of those he considers important in his life. Otherwise, he would have given this answer....."No." Not much can be clearer than that.

He also would not have approved that "script" between he and Mr. DiCaprio last night...he is not stupid enough to not know, that even as a joke, that it would have given some false hope.

So.. will have patience, and listen to all those huffing and puffing over the playground antics of the two front runner candidates (for now) fighting over big donors, but, I will not stop hoping until I hear the definitive and absolute "NO" instead of the obtuse.
