"A bunch of white guys ready to tee off at a restricted country club."

This was a David Letterman quote that he evidently said a while back, but that I just heard today. (He evidently said it when there were still five or six Republicans in the race getting ready to debate.)

What a brilliant observation of today's Republican party. However, the most scary part is that, even though they are fugitives from some bygone century, they can still win the presidency (and perhaps even one of the houses of congress).

Let's not underestimate their well-practiced thievery of elections. And let's not give the American public too much credit for intelligence or self-interest (even after seven years of Bush).

It seems they've settled on some white guy willing to say or do anything to get the nomination. Then again, maybe that's the definition of a politician.

2. I thought that "angry" and "Republicans" were synonymous.

5. And there you have it, m'dear!

‘But I don’t want to go among mad people,’ Alice remarked.
‘Oh, you can’t help that,’ said the Cat: ‘we’re all mad here. I’m mad.
You’re mad.’
‘How do you know I’m mad?’ said Alice.
‘You must be,’ said the Cat, ‘or you wouldn’t have come here.’
