Bush broke his code of silence on the upcoming elections on Fox News Sunday (where else) and told Chris Wallace that he believed John McCain was, indeed, a "true conservative." He did not add - as his surrogates did in his previous primary race against McCain in 2000 - that McCain was the "fag candidate" who cheated on his drug-addicted wife with a prostitute and fathered an illegitimate black baby.

The tough-talkin' Texan from Kennebunkport continued to stammer on the subject: "I think that if John is the nominee, he has got some convincing to do to convince people that he is a solid conservative and I'll be glad to help him if he is the nominee ..." Bushspeak aside, I'm sure McCain - whether he is the nominee or not - would be just as happy if Raisin Brain quietly slipped away and never spoke his name again.



Back in the real world, Sec. of Defense Robert Gates said today he wants to "pause" the return of troops from Iraq. Does he have a giant remote control we don't know about? Reuters quotes Gates as saying: '"I think that the notion of a brief period of consolidation and evaluation probably does make sense,' Gates told reporters in Baghdad, endorsing publicly for the first time an idea mooted by the U.S. military commander in Iraq, General David Petraeus. Asked how long this period of evaluation would last, Gates said: 'That's one of the things we are still thinking about.'"

Without a firm troop withdrawal plan in place by the November elections, the neocons better hope that the economy shows a rapid improvement, or they're in deep trouble.

I had my eye closed and all I did while she was lying against my shoulder was unhook one claw she had in my shoulder digging in my arm and she stood up and then waited then smacked me , I got two scrtches across my eye lid and that hurt plus the poke in the eye type pain . I bled about a quart .

One of my cats gets like that. If I pet him in the wrong spot, he gets all pissed off and bites or scratches me. Another time, one of the cats ran over my face after he was chased by one of the others.

One is ok , the one male bit my wife clear through her big toe for nothing and she ended up with a swollen toe and meds for weeks . it was deep . This cat has always been nuts and you can't trust him .
