The media lock down on the Don Siegelman story must be broken.

There is a political prisoner in America. A man whose greatest crime was to be a popular, elected official in Alabama, as a Democrat.

In this case the judge has been shown to be corrupt, the prosecutor has been shown to be corrupt, witnesses have been bribed to provide testimony, and yet, the former Governor still sits in a prison cell.

Do this exercise: Google Don Siegelman and you will find that the only non-internet site stories on his plight have to do with his conviction and imprisonment. No stories appear in any newspaper regarding the false imprisonment and political prosecution of Gov. Siegelman.

I believe that his birthday is this month, the 24th if I recall correctly.

Here's what I would like to ask you to do: Take 15 minutes of your time within the next week, write a letter of support for Don Siegelman to your local newspaper, and MAYBE, just maybe we can can make a small impact in getting this abuse of power out into the light.

Thanks for considering.

1. It disgusts me that the DNC ignored what happened in 2002 and wouldn't side with
Siegelman.

I think their refusal to do that early on, immediately after the 2002 election theft, led to the steamrolling of Siegelman.

The DNC was essentially signalling to Rove and the RNC that they had no interest in supporting Siegelman at all.
