Fox News 2004: Bush ties his policies to record home ownership
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 05:28 PM by Bluebear
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — President Bush on Friday promoted his efforts to help Americans, especially minorities, "realize their dreams" of home ownership as he wooed the large Hispanic population of a state he barely lost four years ago.

"We want more people owning their own home in America," Bush said. His goal is to have 5.5 million minority homeowners in the country by the end of the decade.

Touting his tax cuts as the economy's savior — and pointing to the strong housing market as proof — Bush said "more people own their own home now than ever." More than 50 percent of minorities owned their own homes in the last three months of 2003 for the first time ever, the president said.

Census Bureau Reveals Home Ownership At Record Low

(RTTNews) - In a report from the U.S. Census Bureau released Tuesday, it was revealed home ownership in 2007 saw its biggest one-year drop on record.

Homeowners accounted for 68 percent of occupied homes in the United States in the October-December period of 2007, representing a decline of 1.1 percent from the fourth quarter of 2006. Merely three years ago, in 2004 home ownership hit a record high of 69.2 percent. The report has been issued since 1965.

1. Is he living in the same universe??
His wranglers must be very good at keeping him isolated. So much so that his speech peeps aren't in the loop either.

They must think we are all as stupid as George is. I'm series.

3. lol
I remember pukes that I used to work with arguing with me about how the economy was great a couple of years ago citing record home ownership, and how employment was great, and how the war was going well, and how "no one gets turned away for healthcare" etc.

I would like to go back to that old store and pee on all of their shoes in disdain. They were so damn condescending and insulting about informing me that though I was too Liberal to understand it: everything was going great.

If more idiots like them had just smelled the freakin coffee... who knows maybe something would have happened
