"Bush Calls Top Officials to Discuss How to Blame Recession On Clintons"
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 02:46 PM by Atman
Washington - President Bush assembled his top advisers today hoping to find a way to retroactively blame the current recession on the as-yet-unelected Hillary Clinton. Having falsely claimed the economy was booming for over four years now, Bush could be forced into the uncomfortable position of having to admit he's been lying, as aides tell him it is too late to go back and re-blame everything on the husband of Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton.

"The trouble is, we've passed the point of no return," said a senior White House staffer, speaking anonymously out of embarrassment over his affiliation with the failed empire. "We've lied about things being great for so long, no one will buy it if we suddenly go back to blaming the current mess on Bill Clinton." The staffer went on to explain that some in the administration are working on a plan which would pre-emptively blame Hillary Clinton for the economic crash which is occurring under President George Bush. "America is scared of a woman President, so they've stopped buying homes or cars or taking out sub-primes loans. Yeah...yeah, that's the ticket!"

Bush's plan to lull Americans into a false sense of security prior to the 2008 election rout of the GOP by bribing them with shiny objects and candy has met with considerable criticism from all but the stupidest of American economists. Not surprisingly, all those economists also work for Fox News. "If everyone would take their $800 and buy a big-screen tv, this crisis could be averted," declared Sean Hannity. "And, they'll be able to count my pores in vivid hi-definition."

"Whatever the outcome of the current disintegration of the world financial markets," said another embarrassed staffer, "at least we'll have a black man or a Clinton to blame it on. Or John McCain."

6. eh it might make me feel better.
plus I like the irony. not the pathetic irony of me giving money to a candidate who will not be elected but the irony of getting money from an enemy and giving it to a friend of the people.

2. I think they've decided
To come at this in a totally contradictory way.

They will say the economy is just hunky-dory, thank you, while they do everything they can to slow the crash until a Dem in in office.

11. What's scary is that if Bush actually did that, a lot of Americans would believe it
When I heard that in South Carolina the majority of the Republicans there still think Bush has America on the right track, it makes me realize that he could invent any fantasy and they would buy it.

15. don't laugh-I worry about the spin...hence my latest ltte
to be printed tomorrow..don't let the media try to make this our fault

Recently,The President became aware of the economic crisis
in the United States. His solution...an extension of tax cuts to
major corporations, which had been initiated in 2001 and 2003.
Here is what these corporations have done with their tax cuts:

-Since 2001,an estimated 830,000 white collar and 2.8
million manufacturing jobs have been sent overseas
-while corporate profits increased since 2001,that profit was
not seen by the workers. The average CEO of a Fortune 500
company made 15 million dollars, and robbed the company
treasury with stock options and " Golden Parachutes".

-Current laws allow companies to indefinitely defer paying
taxes on overseas income, while deducting much of their
moving expenses when they send jobs overseas.

-Many companies that send jobs overseas get tax breaks. If
the United States taxed these companies, we'd generate an
additional $7 billion to $12 billion in taxes. Lawmakers could
give tax breaks to companies that keep jobs here in the
United States.

-The salaries of the middle-class workers of these companies
have not risen propotionately, and have indeed
decreased, along with benefits and healthcare coverage.

Do most logical adults think a one-time $800 check will solve
the National budget crisis? Many Americans are now working
two and three jobs to keep up with the escalating price of
food, energy and healthcare. Our Federal Reserve has pumped
hundreds of billions of dollars into the finacial system, and the
Prime Rate can only go so low.Six years of tax cuts have left
us with a huge budget deficit and a crumpling infrastructure
thanks to disappearing programs.Choose your candidates
carefully in March.

16. Wakeup call?
Democrats in power drifted away from the core values of the Democratic Party..
They started trying to compete for corporate campaign money by permitting awful trade
agreements that undermined the American economy and weakened the American middle class.

"Media consolidation has blocked out almost all non-corporate voices
in the discussion of public policy issues. Edwards wants less corporate control
over everyday life and has specific programs in mind to move in that direction."

"During the 1930’s, President Roosevelt moved the Democratic Party solidly behind a political program of economic populism. As a result, the nation saw a couple generations of solid
economic growth and mass prosperity.

A vibrant middle class emerged from the policies promoted by FDR.
The Democratic Party clearly replaced the Republicans as the stronger of the two major parties
as a result."

FDR pulled this country together when we were in total economic collapse.
With his 'New deal' he put America back to work building our infrastructure,
pulled us out of the Great depression and made us all proud for all we
accomplished,thanks to his leadership--

Kucinich and Edwards are FDR Democrats --

18. they blamed Clinton on the 1st recession
And Reagan was responsible for the Clinton years according to them.

Why stop there? Why not blame George Washington on the great Depression and Lincoln on the 50s boom?
