i love John Edwards, but
think he should bow out and support Obama. I admire his tenacity though. Maybe stay through SC, then bow out before super Tuesday? Or is he counting on carrying a lot of states at that time?

Don't flame me, I really do love John, just thinking of the future

5. no seriously, i really do
I'm just an Obama fan and think John's support would go to Obama. Hillary is my third of three. John needs a win I guess.......

13. Then let Obama win his battles the hard way,
one vote at a time.

If Obama needs Edwards to toss him a win, he has no business being in the race.

should vacate the race, it is all up to him, and I will still support him.

26. I think he should stay in...
all the way to the convention. However, when and if the time comes I will support the nominee, no matter who that is. But I feel Edwards should gather as much support as possible, if for nothing else than to force the eventual winner to adopt some of his ideas.

4. Ah. The criers and whiners are really out today calling for Edwards to
quit because their guy lost again.

You're projecting. It's not up to Edwards to win Barrie's campaign. That's Barrie's job. And it ain't going his way right now. So just take your lumps like an adult and don't worry what Edwards does and doesn't do.

in the general election. america is too racist to ever elect a black man, and hillary will get swiftboated like you have never seen. just my honest opinion

11. i totally agree, i have been scared of the same thing
but if he can't get the nomination........and it's not looking good, is it? Maybe I'm REALLY naive. I think all three of our top three are great and would support whomever gets the nod. I love in Texas, at this point I can only watch and wait

12. your statement does hold some truth with me also.
Edwards is waiting in the wings, and again Americans will vote against their best interests. Very discouraging, when things are so upside down in the country.

23. THANK YOU
except either Clinton or Obama will get swiftboated - and actually so will Edwards - but I think it will be harder for them to hurt Edwards If they could make Kerry's military record seem bad compared to the deserter in chief you can bet your butt "they" will make Obama out to be a murderous Muslim and Hillary a cold hearted witch - I never would have believed this when I lived in a very diverse - fairly liberal suburb of DC but now that I live in the Florida and have experienced the most ridiculously racist shit of my life - and having personally experienced sexism I believe that sexism is so ingrained in both men and some woman they don't even know when they are being sexist - this has been so clearly demonstrated right here at DU - we're just not ready for either - especially if McCain is their candidate. I believe this to my core

Having said all that I hope I am completely WRONG....

25. very depressing
so nobody but a white man can ever get elected in America? I would absolutely prefer a great dem white man to an old white warmonger any day, but really? I was thinking we were better than this

29. Its completely depressing
but with swiftboating, voter suppression and electronic voting and the VAST majority of the voters not paying one bit of attention to the issues - I just don't know. I'm not completely sure this is true but I think I heard it on The Young Turks - that repunk voters who are against us staying in Iraq voted for McCain in the NH primary - now how stupid is that - he is probably one of the biggest warmongers of all of them and he might even choose LIEberman as his running mate - go figure

We SHOULD be better than this....

yep completely depressing....

9. Oh yea, that's what the party needs
more people who fold like cheap tin foil. Like John Edwards, I'm in this for the long haul. As long as he's willing to fight for us, I'm willing to fight for him.

10. I hate to tell you this, but a lot of Edwards supporters will not be
coming over to the Obama camp.

I will vote for Hillary, but I will not vote for Barack because of the gay issue, and I think he has a lot of bad news ahead of him with this Rezko deal.

Barack needs to mend some fences and come clean on a few details before he'll have my support. He insulted me with the gay thing, and I won't vote for him because of that.

Plus, John says he's in it through the convention, so who knows what he has up his sleeve...

19. In short, he's a hypocrite.
Obama says he supports gay people, yet he permitted an anti-gay preacher, named Donnie McClurkin, to appear at an official Obama event. At that event, he told the audience that prayer cured him of being homosexual.

This was nothing new for Donnie, Barack had every reason to know this was Donnie's stance. Yet Barack permitted it anyway, but disclosed that Donnie's opinions weren't necessarily Barack's opinions. He still allowed it to happen, and he's done NOTHING to fix the situation in the months since this happened.

A search on the internets will give you more details if you want them.
