About the proposed tax rebate: The more you need it, the less you get
The last time around, I got ZERO. I'm a single dad with three teenagers, a bricklayer who depends on construction (down now) and good weather (never that great in the winter) for income. The reason I got nothing last time: I had a rebate because of my kids. So I ain't getting my hopes up.

1. I didn't, either -- because I owed back taxes at the time
Now I'm clear with the Feds ... but I'm not holding my breath, either.

3. Eveybody gets Obama's FICA rebate
His plan also boosts unemployment and social security. I'm not wild about any of these 'stimulus packages', but at least Obama shows he is with working people.

8. Why would Obama want to boost unemployment?
There is too much now.

4. I doubt I'll get anything either
I did not get anything last time so why should I even THINK I might get something this time?

I guess they don't think that people that don't have high incomes spend money I guess. :grr:

:kick:

7. "The more you need it, the less you get"
So true.

Last time they did this I was on Social Security Disability (I am still), and my wife wasnt working so she could help around the house, and we got $0.

While my wife has been working the last 4 years (we couldnt get by on just my SSDI) were not expecting much this time either.

11. Is this a real rebate or another advance on your next tax refund?
Which will have to be paid back if it is less than the rebate.

If they were serious about boosting the economy, they would be talking about getting the manufacturing jobs back into this country. They talk about more jobs, but they NEVER say what kind of jobs or the pay scale for these jobs. If you have a job flipping burgers and a second job pushing broom, why would you want a third job busing tables or washing dishes?
How about real jobs that pay a living wage instead of more jobs that pay gas money for teenagers.
