Poll question: Do you ever wish you could just sit back and not care what is happening in this country?
Do you wish you didn't know what you know?
I am wondering how many think now that ignorance might be bliss and would at least give you some restful nights.

1. Never....
I will never rest till all these criminals that run our country and corporations are brought to justice.

I know that could never happen in a million years but it won't keep me from trying.

2. Restful nights are easier
since I moved 7000 miles and 10 time zones away.

3. Been there, done that
I didn't pay attention to politics until 2003. It took an illegal war to get me to pay attention. It sucks being as aware and informed as I am now, but I wouldn't trade it for anything, except possibly the rest of the country being being exposed to the same information, and have the ability to process it.

4. Ignorance is bliss,
until it isn't.

Maybe on an especially bad day, I fleetingly think how much easier life would 'seem'.

I refuse to be blindsided and once some things are in your head, ie., Abu Graihb, Gitmo, Fallujah, they never leave.

We witness for those with no voices.

5. If Edwards isn't nominated
I think I will leave politics. I will know that it's not worth it. Neither Clinton nor Obama will be able to win. And, even if by some miracle, they do win, I will remain invisible to them. They don't care about me or anyone like me. In their eyes, I am worthless.

8. Sure. Sometimes, I wish that I could just live my life without thinking about this stuff...
But then I read/hear/see/smell the world I am surrounded by and how much worse all of our lives are because bush has been in office for 7 years and I come to the conclusion that I have to be informed and I have to tell other people to vote and get involved. Life would be easier if one lives with head~in~sand but it is never any better. The only hope we have is to stay alert. We certainly cannot rely on the fourth estate.
