2. I don't trust polls for NH this time.

I predict a huge turnout, whatever that portends, but I have seen too many different results for NH. Also, the talk on the ground in NH has been Edwards and Obama. I don't see Edwards sliiping here, rather he and Obama both rising at Clinton's expense. It's going to be interesting!

MAMMOTH BOUNCE?

The new CNN/WMUR/UNH poll is out and it suggests a huge post-Iowa bounce for Obama. A ten point lead in today's poll 39% to 29% against the tied (33%-33%) poll they put out just yesterday. It's just one poll but this is one of the most respected ones for New Hampshire elections.

Even though Clinton did well in the debate the others did better, I would not be surprised to see Richardson in double digits either. NH has such a large number of independents, and I see few of them voting biblican, oops, I mean republican. By the way I thought that was one excellent debate, on topic, overall civility, and truly worth watching. My spouse suffered through the R debate and says it was quite sad.

9. Edwards won't do well in NH.

In fact, I was hoping his numbers would start low (about 15%) and would get a 5% bump. That would be positive. This trend, if it stays, isn't good. Edwards was the strongest in the debate last night.

If he keeps dropping and then wins SC, the pundits can just claim the whole "Southern" thing. You know, an Edwards win was "expected." The press WILL NOT give JE any help. NONE.

50% of primary voters there are African American. And he's polling horribly. No way those voters go to Edwards. His odds in SC are the same as they are in NH.

and that didn't work out as well as planned. He has no safety net/ firewall states. NH is his last chance to beat Hillary and make it a two person race with Obama.
