The amount of Obama hatred here is either a deluge of FReeper lurkers,
or the most petty display of, well...pettiness that I've ever seen.

THIS is the candidate.
NOW is the time.

Hundreds of thousands of Iowans saw it; why can't you?

(Please, please, New Hampshire - don't screw this up.)

It's only criticism of Obama that is blasphemy.

19. hold up
the Obama bashing has been very republican in nature. The accusations have been false or racist

- Busing people into Iowa
- He is black, therefore cannot win
- He is a DLC member

Lets be honest now.

brought up a valid point.

Or get fooled by the glitter of rock stars.

It'll be a cold day in Hell when an Iowan makes MY decisions. But you just follow along and let them do your thinking.

6. Sorry
Been an Obama supporter since the day he announced.

But hey, you go nominate another wonky bore in the vein of Mondale/Dukakis/Gore/Kerry.

I'm sure it'll work out fine.

27. You don't have to say it. You show up in support of your candidate
and you are automatically.

But the holier-than-thou attitude turns people away.

Obama deserves way better than that, imho.

Mondale/Dukakis/Gore/Kerry wonky bores? Guess you are saying that whatever they said went over your head?

I saw as much excitement at Kerry rallies as I see at Obama rallies. (Obama is my pick among the current top 3 btw)

So, git on yer way and don't let the door hit ya...

If you can't stand the heat on DU, you'd better move out of the country this fall if Obama gets the nomination and the corporate press turns on him.

You seem to have bought the "Bush won" lie. You'd better gird yourself for another Republican "victory" in November.

8. There is one question that overrides all others in politics:
Can he win?

Kinda tough to get all those swell policy positions you like in your candidate if he can't get to the office.

How do you know this, if so? See, I think you're under the impression no one else should support any other candidate. I don't know where you're getting that idea from. We're all entitled to support the candidate of our choice, RIGHT?

26. That's not a question. That's a pissing contest.
The arrogant posturing of those who pretend to divine the preferences of millions of voters and cannot support their own choice on other the the most ephemeral and intangible of claims and attacks upon the PERSON rather than fair and reasonable discussion of the issues and the POSITIONS on those issues is the FECAL MATTER of 'political' activity.

Watching such nonsense is less edifying than watching monkeys fling shit at the zoo.

Primaries are about people debating and disagreeing and learning.

It's not about ONE candidate and everyone else has to shut up.

29. So people think differently than you, so you are gone.. How Republican of you
Sorry, it is republicans that can not stand to see, hear, read, or smell anything that is 1% off from their thoughts. I think it is because in their minds the crap they have been feed is like a house of cards, and any thought to the contrary could blow it over...

I am sorry you fear debate, I am sorry you fear non-like minded people. I am also sorry that you have 2 modes, LOVE OBAMA or it is hatred... again how Republican...

While we all thank you for your very declarative statement, we are going to have elections, and as shocking as this may be, others get to have a say as well.

30. Actually only about 90K Iowans saw it that way
I've heard two different reports of Iowa Dem turnout

236,000 * 38% = 89,680 or
239,000 * 38% = 90,820

so not hundreds of thousands of Iowans saw it - and that is why I have a BIG issue with this whole primary/caucus situation that 90K people (which is like .03% of the nation) could have such an impact in a country of 300 million is nuts....but that's the way it is.

but I get your drift DU is not for the faint of heart during primary season....

35. You might want to re-evaluate
I don't hate Obama, I might vote for Obama but I want to hear something of substance from Obama beside "hope." I would like to know what he plans to do to reward the "hope" he's passing out. A dear African/American friend of mine wants to know why he uses one form of voice modulation when talking to mostly white people and another form of voice modulation when talking to African/Americans, he wants to know who is the real Obama. I would like to know how he feels about Roe v Wade, school voucher, tax cuts for the wealthy, alternative fuels, global warming, how does he feel and what is he planning to do about them and most of all what is he going to do about the war in Iraq. I would like to know what he plans to do about the US defense budget which is three times more than the rest of the world put together. Who has he consulted on his health care plan which is so much like Hillary's. Who is Obama? I am sure he is a nice guy, everyone says he is, but who is he? I don't hate him, I don't know him.
