Libby verdict: Time now for congress and MSM to get involved
Any time now, we may hear from the Libby jury. Up to this point, we've heard evidence that at least four senior administration officials have been involved in trying to: leak NIE and Plame status to the press, discredit important war-related information, "insta-classify" reports and identities in support of a lie, use the press in an unseemly manner, lie to the American people (Scotty and B*sh), endanger an operative and everyone associated with her, ruin a career, compromise security and intelligence, and destroy traditional relationships between administration and intelligence agencies and the press.

A GUILTY VERDICT AGAINST LIBBY DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT THAT CONGRESS (and MSM) SHOULD BE INVOLVED IN OVERSIGHT FOR THIS OUTRAGEOUS ABUSE OF POWER.

It may be that indictment for Plame leak itself will not happen because of perjury, obstruction of justice, well-hidden trail of lies, new "insta-declassification" policies, or whatever. That doesn't mean that congress shouldn't rebuke, punish, impeach, etc a group of rogue officials that have caused a lot of harm to our country.

2. Up to this point, congressional dems have been quiet, because of the trial..
And that's probably appropriate. But with a verdict expected soon, they won't have to worry about that any more, so I fully expect that people like Kerry, Ted Kennedy, John Conyers and others will begin to speak out and take action.

I think impeachment of Cheney became a much higher possibility after Fitz' summation yesterday.

As for the MSM, I have no clue whether anyone is ready to go on this issue. Aside from people like Krugman and Herbert of course.

5. I think, too, because of this trial and leak investigation we haven't heard from Plame and
CIA so much. Maybe once it's over, more will come to light. Then there's the civil trial.

None of that should stop congress from getting involved however.

4. There is no excuse for allowing these criminals to persist in their traitorous behavior.

6. The media lapdogs will not assist as they have been complicit
in this charade all along. All the while Judy Miller sat in jail, they played right along pretending she was protecting a "whistleblower" not a traitor. Any news agency knows the true definition of a whistleblower, which does not resemble Libby in any way shape or form. Even after a federal judge stated she was protecting a criminal, they just switched the topic of discussion and pondered whether or not Plame was truly covert, or any of the other false framing issues they've employed from the beginning to disguise the seriousness of the administration officials' crimes, aided and abetted by members of their own ranks.
