Dear Mr. Cigna, I hope your mother dies on Christmas Day
That's not what I wish you, actually, but it sure does seem appropriate. And your mother is probably a wonderful woman and has nothing to do with my anger toward you.

In actuality, I wish you a very, very long life with many medical complications - all painful, none fatal - and no healthcare.

4. That would be like sending cards to the pre-Tiny Tim Scrooge.

3. I'm living that curse
and Cigna was the first thing I dumped off my dad's portfolio when I inherited it.

What the news didn't say was whether or not a donor liver had been found. If it had, I think the surgery would have been done and the company fought tooth and nail later. They had no legal leg to stand on since successful liver transplants have been done for over 20 years now, meaning it's hardly experimental.

That's the advice I gave a cousin of mine whose surgery really was experimental. She took it and fought the company later and WON.

I can't believe the family didn't get the same advice. I think reporting on this has been sensationalist and lazy.

Cigna still sucks and like most insurance companies, makes sick people fight for everything they get, hoping they die in the process.
