Taking lead from Drudge, conservative echo chamber hypes Clinton photo
http://mediamatters.org/items/200712190002?f=h_latest

Summary: After the Drudge Report displayed an Associated Press photo of Hillary Clinton above the headline "The Toll of a Campaign," the conservative echo chamber went into effect. Rush Limbaugh discussed the photo on his radio show, Drudge then linked to the transcript on Limbaugh's website, and The Washington Times and Michelle Malkin on Fox news' The Big Story, then reprinted or discussed the photograph, characterizing it as representative of the toll the campaign was taking on Clinton.

3. It's pretty easy to catch a photo of anyone looking tired
or not their best.

Look at this photo of John Edwards before his morning coffee and smoke the other day.

9. Gee, that's John Edwards?
I'd better switch to Huckabee. He has a much nicer haircut!

6. what's fascinating to me, of course,
is we as a Society STILL expect our female Public Figures to somehow exhibit -- 24/7 -- some kind of glamorous, idealized image of what a woman "should" be. Hillary Clinton is a woman of a certain age who looks like a woman of a certain age.

And, quite frankly, I'd prefer the first female President of the United States to be more concerned with the Economy, Health Care, Education, Foreign Policy and setting us back on-course after the historical debacle that was (and still is) ** than about how good she looks and whether or not she's adequately playing to the outmoded, idealized, unrealistic precepts the Collective We hold women to.

Articles and discussions like this just continue to support something that is important for those who work only with the surface, refusing to dive into what's really important. Can you imagine what would happen if Drudge and Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh were judged by the same criteria they're attempting to judge -- and besmirch -- Hillary with?

10. I think we have to expect that to happen on an anonymous board like this one
I would even be willing to bet some posters here are Rethugs. And not just the real obvious ones who flame out real fast either. Some are more patient.

Far, fewer wrinkles in these photos compared to the ones in the fake photos that are circulating in the controlled reich wing media.
