The CIA and “the Cold War’s darkest secret.”
http://www.frankolsonproject.org/Contents.html

For two more decades—following revelations in 1975 about the administration of LSD by the CIA to a group of scientists at Deep Creek Lake—it was a shock that would not subside. Then in 1994—after I had the body exhumed and the forensic report was delivered, and again in 1996 when the New York District Attorney opened a murder investigation of the by-then forty-three year old death—it became a case that was nearly impossible to believe. Now in May 2000—as the DA’s office nears completion of its four-year grand jury investigation—it has become an enterprise whose scale, complexity, and implications are as difficult to fathom as its weight is diffcult to bear.

I have been standing at the center of this dizzying enterprise, simultaneously prodding it into existence, keeping it moving, and blinking in disbelief as it grows beyond me. Writing in The London Mail on Sunday in August 1998 the highly esteemed espionage historian Phillip Knightley and journalist Kevin Dowling called my father’s death “the Cold War’s darkest secret.”

In order to bring that secret to light I have set myself up as a broker of fragments. By gathering, synthesizing, relaying, and leveraging bits of information within a constantly expanding network I have sought to advance the story on a variety of fronts, relying on a dispersed collection of allies.

2. CIA's darkest secret = Catalogue of Wiretaps, Assassination Plots, and Mind Control."
CIA's darkest secret
By James Carroll | July 2, 2007
http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped... /

EVERY SO often, the front page trumpets ethical and legal lapses committed by US intelligence agencies. In Iraq, they have run the gamut from pre war falsification of weapons data to surveillance of American citizens to kidnapping to torture of prisoners. During the Cold War, it was "black operations" that included staging coups, assassinating foreign leaders, infiltrating American organizations, conspiring with Mafia groups, spying on journalists -- perhaps even murder.

Last week, the latest paroxysm of revelation announced, as a New York Times headline put it, "CIA Skeleton . . . Catalogue of Wiretaps, Assassination Plots, and Mind Control." But the so called "family jewels" of the CIA's hidden abuses may not enshrine the deepest and darkest secret.

The nefarious activities of the national security apparatus have long been justified by their "realist" defenders as necessary to protect America from her enemies, but what if, instead of protecting the nation, this structure of criminality exists mostly to protect itself? What if this cryptic system's true enemies are not hostile forces from abroad, but America's own fancied traditions of decency and honor? What if the CIA, that is, has not been protecting us, but has been protecting itself from us?

Return to the beginning, which was not 1947, when the CIA was established, but 1953, when it was set loose. Its then-director, Allen Dulles, was the brother of President Eisenhower's secretary of state, John Foster Dulles. Their peculiar ethos -- a combination of personal moralism and public amorality -- stamped the agency. ........

4. The Search for the Manchurian Candidate: The CIA and Mind Control
The Search for the Manchurian Candidate
The CIA and Mind Control
John Marks

Published by Times Books in 1979. The extraordinary story, compiled from documents released under the Freedom of Information Act, of how the CIA conducted a series of secret programs to find ways to control human behavior. Marks' investigation reveals that the Agency was deeply involved in research with psychoactive drugs, psycho-surgery, electroshock, hypnosis and other methods on Agency operatives, students, mental patients, defectors, prisoners and prostitutes; many of these subjects were unwitting or involuntary collaborators...

6. The CIA and Its Secret Experiments America’s Great State Secret

Gordon Thomas

MINDFIELD

· Sensational never-seen-before documents from inside the White House, CIA and other agencies.

· Reveals the documentary evidence that links US Vice-President Dick Cheney and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to the cover-up of the death of top CIA scientist, Frank Olson.

· Explains how the CIA financed a ruthless and systematic assault of the human psyche – using a British-born psychiatrist to spearhead the assault.

· Names other world renowned physicians who were involved in the most sinister research programme ever created by any United States government – and its secret partner – the British government.

· Reveals how a woman was programmed to become a CIA assassin.

· Describes how a CIA chemist was murdered by his own colleagues after he had turned to the one man he thought he could trust – a London psychiatrist engaged in similar work.

· Reveals how “expendables” – the CIA generic name for those selected for killing – were secretly murdered after they had been experimented on in Europe.

· Describes how the CIA used prostitutes and mental patients in other experiments.

· Explains how the CIA deliberately pioneered the drug culture whose effects are still with us.

· Reveals how the CIA agent selected to monitor the experiments eventually died at the hands of a physician steeped in the methods perfected by the CIA.

· Identifies how the CIA experiments are still carried on in secret establishments in Israel and China.

· Uncovers CIA terminal experiments on Vietcong prisoners in Vietnam.

· Publishes the CIA Manual of Assassination – a shocking document describing how to commit state-approved murder.

MINDFIELD

All this and more is supported by a wealth of never before published evidence; personal interviews with those doctors involved in the work that mocks their oath to do no harm to their patients.

It is also the story of a brave man, William Buckley, the longest serving agent in the CIA, until his own terrible death at the hands of a doctor trained in the techniques the CIA pioneered. Buckley was a close personal friend of the author.

MINDFIELD

It is a shattering account of how the dark side of science collaborated with sheer lunacy to create a chilling tour de force of terror. Based upon impeccable research, it shows how our elected governments lied to the people for over fifty years – and continues to obscure the truth. It is a story of murder, inhuman experiments and torture.

MINDFIELD

Critical acclaim from Victims and Victimisers.

“I am a survivor of the MK-ULTRA programme. It was run by the CIA and designed to control a subject’s mind and will to the point where he or she would become an assassin. To achieve this I was forced to undergo extensive drugging, electro-shock, sensory deprivation, hypnosis, partake in pornographic films, act as a prostitute and much else. I finally have realised I cannot keep hiding that it has left me only a shell of life to live. In going public I want to end the fear all survivors of MK-ULTRA live with.”

Kathleen Ann Sullivan

“Mindfield is filled with the same intrigue and political adventures found in the best spy novels. Only Mindfield is true. I know because I was involved in the CIA mind-control experiments. This book has been meticulously researched and penetrates much of the mystery that shrouds the CIA. It reveals the agency as it was and as it remains: cold and dedicated to its own self-designed purpose. The pages of this book are filled with the correct phrases, the right quotations and accurate assumptions honed by clear professional judgement.”

Alexander Legault
Former US Naval Intelligence/Operations

“Meticulously researched, Mindfield is a deeply disturbing story of hideous government experiments using drugs and behavioural modification. Teaching hospitals on both sides of the Atlantic were used. Many of the doctors who performed those experiments remain in high office today and still conduct those experiments with impunity. Mindfield is a terrifying warning how easy it is for elected governments to sanction secret experiments to control human behaviour. Gordon Thomas has meticulously taken us from incredulity to awareness of the Machiavellian lengths our governments go to in our unsuspecting name. This remarkable book is essential reading for all those in a trusted role to care for people. In every sense it is an outstanding text that reveals the darker side of medicine.”

“Riveting! A great read and very enjoyable.”

9. I've googled Gordon Thomas. Has a notable publishing record. But was also involved in globe-intel,
a newsletter from which articles appear in various places on the net, which comes up with some odd stuff like this 2002 article: MOSSAD BRIEFS VP CHENEY THAT SADDAM’S SUICIDE PILOTS ARE AT HARD STAND READINESS http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/archive.cgi?read=1... Also quite a list of articles at Rense.com, including more "info" asserting Iraq's possession of WMD's: http://www.rense.com/general34/arsenal.htm

Looks like, at the least, he's been used as a disinfo outlet by some of his "intel sources." Or perhaps he is a disinfo outlet? He seems to have attracted some "interesting" supporters and associations, based on where some of his work is referenced and promoted on the net.

For example, Thomas has been a contributor to a newsletter of Joseph Farah. Thomas' articles also have appeared on Farah's Worldnetdaily. For one example: "Osama's exploits south of border Al-Qaida in league with Mexican radicals in plot to penetrate U.S., says MI6 report" ( http://70.85.195.205/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=50130 ) which suggests, among other things, that Hugo Chavez is supporting and providing a haven for al Qaeda.

Weird.

Seemslikeadream: have you read "Minefield?" Apparently it was published in book format at one time. Thomas has a new book out: "Secrets and Lies: A History of CIA Mind Control and Germ Warfare." Available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.

Having been at the receiving end of this technology for the last couple of decades, I can assure you it exists. They crush anyone they deem to be a threat.

10. The worst part
is how they prevent you from getting proper medical care for the injuries they cause, assuming you survive in the first place.
