The Sunday Talk Shows
Meet the Press It's all Rudy. Tune in and see how many times he can say "September 11" during the segment.

Fox News Sunday McCain and Huckabee. Should be about as interesting as Press the Meat.

Samuel Lloyd III, dean of the Washington National Cathedral, will be featured in the Power Player of the Week segment.

Face the Nation Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller will talk about Iran and the new NIE. Senator Chuck Hagel will provide the Republican response. This should be interesting.

This Week Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden will discuss his campaign. Newt Gingrich will be on to stink up the show. Political round table discussion will include Sam Donaldson, Cokie Roberts and George Will.

Late Edition Pakistani President Musharraf will discuss recent turmoil in his country. Senator Diane Feinstein will come on next to talk about Iran and the new NIE. Wonder if she and Jay are comparing notes.

House Minority Leader John Boehner and new Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl will come on to talk about their legislative agenda, probably with emphasis on budget and Iraq.

Newsmakers (On C-SPAN) Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH), the ranking member on the Senate Budget Committee, will be questioned by Congressional Quarterly's David Clarke and Market News International's John Shaw.

4. It's usually that way.
Here's an Media Matters article that spells it out:

If It's Sunday, It's Conservative: An analysis of the Sunday talk show guests on ABC, CBS, and NBC, 1997 - 2005

Feb 14, 2006

Executive Summary

The Sunday-morning talk shows on ABC, CBS, and NBC are where the prevailing opinions are aired and tested, policymakers state their cases, and the left and right in American politics debate the pressing issues of the day on equal ground. Both sides have their say and face probing questions. Or so you would think.

In fact, as this study reveals, conservative voices significantly outnumber progressive voices on the Sunday talk shows. Media Matters for America conducted a content analysis of ABC's This Week, CBS' Face the Nation, and NBC's Meet the Press, classifying each one of the nearly 7,000 guest appearances during President Bill Clinton's second term, President George W. Bush's first term, and the year 2005 as either Democrat, Republican, conservative, progressive, or neutral. The conclusion is clear: Republicans and conservatives have been offered more opportunities to appear on the Sunday shows - in some cases, dramatically so.

<snip>

In short, the Sunday talk shows on ABC, CBS, and NBC are dominated by conservative voices, from newsmakers to commentators. The data from the Clinton years indicate that the disparity cannot be explained simply by the fact that Republicans currently control the government.

8. damn straight.
Everyone would give up all the other sunday shows if they watched McLaughlin. From the 1987 opening graphic to Buchannen's corny jokes, it's a hell of a show.

9. Timmeh Loves Him Some Rudy Real Good...
Here's Timmeh's chance to do some of his best "gotcha" soundbites and quotes. Throw up all the revelations about his affair, fleecing the NYC taxpayers, Kerik, screwing 9/11 families, firefighters, cops and flip flopping on more issues than he can research. And ya wanna bet Rudy gets nothing but softballs. Ya think the Bills will beat the Jets? How evil and awful Hillary is? Does Mittens wear magic underware? Should we torture Islamofacists or just put them in crockpots and let them simmer?

Having Hagel give the "Repugnican response" on FTN should be interesting indeed. Methinks he won't be very amused by the disapearing tapes.

15. Thank you.
I'm not sure lurking Paulards are as appreciative, but thanks for the compliment.

I noticed that too on the Washington Journal. It's not unusual on a show like that for both of Paul's supporters to call in all at once.

I hope someone asks him about the elderly widow he threw out on the street a few years ago so he could jack the rent WAY up on the property she was living in...

That's NEWS -- typical republicon news
