being on a week long drinking binge and his face looking all blood broken.. Nothing new to me, but does anyone know if it was out of a decent source or like the Enquirer.

14. It was The Examiner. I bought it.
Photo of Bush with a big scrape on the side of his face, watery eyes, looked terrible. The Examiner is part of the same group that included The Enquirer.

25. I love when they have the stuff on their about Laura living at the hotel
and being done with that asshat... Probably more truths in those rags about the inside affairs, than not.... Mainstream just doesn't pick on it because they are controlled, but the rags are supposed to be hyped up fluff and b.s. Some is probably over the top on them, but I think there is a truth in there... and we all can see he's clearly on something of some kind most of the time... his manner of speach, his glossy eyes, reddened face from the alcohol...

But someone close to him really ought to strongly urge him to give it a try.

He IS getting psychiatric care, just not psychiatric help.

He is being handled and led. His vanity is what they lead him with.

George W. Bush - The Complete Psychiatric Workup
Edited on Fri Feb-16-07 10:33 PM by leveymg
It started with FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome). George W. Bush showed mild symptoms as a child that were diagnosed later in life as ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), Conduct Disorder (CD), and Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).

What is Fetal Alcohol Syndrome/Fetal Alcohol Effects?
How FAS/FAE occurs | Behavioural/Learning Difficulties | Statistics | History | Links
Fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) is a birth defect syndrome caused by the mother's intake of alcohol during pregnancy. The spectrum of alcohol-related diagnoses includes Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), Fetal Alcohol Effects (FAE), PFAS (Partial Fetal Alcohol Syndrome), ARND (Alcohol Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder) or ARBD (Alcohol Related Birth Defects). All of these birth defects are entirely preventable and can happen to anyone, regardless of age, race or socioeconomic status.

In order to receive a diagnosis of FAS from a physician, three criteria must be present:

1) Characteristic facial features include - a flattened midface, thin upper lip, indistinct/absent philtrum and short eye slits

My guess would be he's been on a cocktail of Ritalin, memory drugs and anti-depressants to treat his Adult ADD and his wallowing self-pitty. These make him focused but paranoid, smoothed over by the anti-depressants. Read this, particularly the comments that follow:

I do not think that there is any evidence that Bush is being treated for any medical or psychiatric condition. And I do not think that legal requirements to reveal any person's medical issues would be a wise idea.

questions and observations from within inner-circles made clear there should have been opern discussions about his health. Although there was a strong and persistant buzz circulating about his health, he was elected again.

The same buzz surfaced during 41's campaign bid against Clinton.

37. Oh, I agree
that there is something wrong with him. Lots of things. And sometimes he comes across as an energetic, arrogant jackass, and other times a tired, confused clown. My point is that his range of behaviors are easily explained by the things that are known for sure. I have read lots of other theories, and discussed them with friends and former co-workers. I would not rule out some other possibilities, although some of the theories seem clearly incorrect. But still, his behaviors can be easily viewed as part of a personality disorder.

41. I think his addictions are a direct result of his personality disorder..
he's had untreated psychological issues his whole life. Something dramatic happened to him since he's been in office though. He's had some sort of mental or physical (maybe both) occurence which has caused him to lose his cognitive abilities. He was never the sharpest tool in the shed, but his mental abilities have really taken a nosedrive recently. I don't know if it's a result of going back on the booze or something else, but he's got serious issues that appear to be worsening at a rapid rate.

43. It's certain possible
that there is a history of addiction in the extended family. Many families in our society have this issue. When one adds his rather severe personality make-up, it results in the type of fellow who shouldn't be "partying." He admits to abusing alcohol, and there is evidence to believe that he abused other substances, including cocaine.

There are also known environmental factors, such as the families' wealth, and the dispositions of his parents. It seems fair to say that his father favored others, especially Jeb, and his mother favored him. A look at his educational and employment history indicates that he was rewarded for all behaviors, including his failings, and that he was never held responsible for his ill behaviors.

The people of Texas, then of the US, and eventually of the world, have been subjected to an arrogant, cruel man who has acted out a family play on the world stage.

Edited on Tue Dec-04-07 02:00 PM by aint_no_life_nowhere
He'd have a private doctor on the side, providing whatever prescriptions he wants. After all, this is the most arrogant, secretive and deceptive administration in history.

And besides, every one of his annual physical exam reports contains the same statement with regard to medication by the examining physician(s):

"...The President uses vitamins but does not routinely use prescription medications..."

It would appear that the physician's statement does not say that he is under no prescription medication. It says he doesn't "routinely" use prescription medication. If the physician during the annual exam somehow discovers signs that Bush is under prescription medication, that would allow Bush to explain away the use as a non-routine usage.

46. Almost certainly, without question
My best guess is that he has been under aggressive psychiatric care for at least three years, possibly longer.

Just to speculate, I would guess he has elected not to receive talk therapy but is drugged to the gills on:

1. Antidepressants
2. Sleep aids
3. Possibly drugs for Adult Attention Deficit Disorder such as ritalin

I would not be surprised in the least to learn that he is drinking again or abusing other prescribed drugs such as the benzodiazepams or even diet pills for energy.
