Campaign Flashback: A Quaint Video in Which JFK Actually Answers...
Edited on Thu Nov-29-07 10:13 AM by CorpGovActivist
... a question face-to-face: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJyb9R_TL8M

In 1960, West Virginia defied the pundits and put to rest the meme that Kennedy was "unelectable" because of his faith. JFK and RFK kept faith with the people of the Mountain State (some great history there).

I see an articulate, strong candidate, answering a voter without dodging.

Mark Penn (Senator Clinton's "chief campaign strategerist") probably wonders if he could find that guy (or one of his kids if he's no longer alive or telegenic) to lob a nostalgic planted softball at the Senator "from" New York.

"Senator Clinton, my father once stood here and asked Senator John F. Kennedy whether his faith mattered to his electability as President. Some unenlightened folks say you're unelectable because of your gender. I think they're knuckle-draggers. What do you think?"

<turns to aide holding the mic>

"Am I supposed to read the part where it says, 'I'm Hillary Clinton, and I approved this question.'?"
