County Registrar Asks for Permission to Use Same Uncertified ES&S Touch-Screen Machines Again, Despite Cost, State's $15 Million Lawsuit Against Distributor...

Things are really expensive in Marin County, California. For example, the cost to the county, so far, for each vote cast on their brand-new AutoMARK touch-screen voting machines has been $45,588.23. Yes, that's more than $45,000 per vote for each of the 17 votes cast on the county's 130 machines over the last two countywide elections since they began using them...

1. Jeez! When are people going to wise up to this filthy scam--or get rid of the
election officials who won't un-corrupt themselves?

Enough awready! And that's 17 RIGGED votes, on top of the cost of casting them!

2. Why do disabled voters need a special voting machine?
I can understand it somewhat for those that are blind, but disabled?

3. Blindness is the primary disability
these machines are designed for. My guess is that the 17 votes were cast by blind individuals - or perhaps by folks curious about the machines.

They can also be used by folks who can't easily use a pen or pencil - and can be activated using different interfaces, like puff and sip, paddles, or an oversize keyboard. Accommodations are mandated by HAVA.

4. Then I wish they would use "the blind"
in lieu of "the disabled".

Btw, HAVA sucks.

5. Oh, they've "used" the blind far enough...

That was the hook for this e-voting scam. While I believe that the blind and the disabled *ought* to be able to vote privately and independently, they also ought to be able to know that their votes will be counted accurately.

Given the machines in use -- which don't even meet the disabilities requirements -- there is no way for them to know that it has been.

At the same time, everyone else is being forced to use the same garbage to cast their vote, and similarly, have no idea if their votes are actually counted accurately.

I've been trying to ring the alarm for some time. Along with a handful of rag-tag patriots around the country. Someone will notice soon, right?
