Get ready to run against a Romney/Huckabee ticket.
Why? Because the Republican Party is very predictable. John McCain is not going to win. Neither is Rudy Giuliani. In the end, the Republicans will choose their candidate on appearance above everything else. Style trumps substance. Romney is the tallest of the candidates and "looks" presidential. That's all that you need to know for the top of the ticket.

As VP, they will pick Huckabee, the former Baptist preacher, in order to keep the "value" voters. That's all that Republicans need. They make it all rather simple. It doesn't matter if Romney has flip-flopped more times than a carp on a hot rock. It doesn't matter.

1. I agree
I've said for a while I thought it would be Romney - he has the money and the style. Saw Huckabee last night on one of the news shows and I agree with you.

11. I also believe D Cheney will be the next POTUS because * will pardon Cheney and quit
then Cheney will pardon *. He will be president only for about 48hrs. But he will be 44 and the elected POTUS will be 45. He'll also brought place in MD, so he is not going bach to WY or TX, and she will be on the ticket.

4. Posted this three weeks ago:
Predictions are bullshit: I'm gonna make one:
The repuke ticket will be Romney and Huckabee. Ta da.

Romney is in first in Iowa and NH and moving up in S. Carolina. Not sure how he's faring in Nevada. He has a boatload of money. Huckabee as his running mate would remove much of the "Mormon fear" that fundies have, and Huckabee is also a good ol' southern boy.

This is a ticket to be wary of, no matter who our candidate is: Mitt is a slick candidate- that works both for and against him. Huckabee, despite his loathsome fundiness, is a likable guy, with a folksiness and humor. A Romney/Huckabee ticket would reel the religious right wing in, instead of repelling them like a Guiliani ticket.

Having made such a prediction, I'll almost certainly be wrong. Hope I am.

6. The letter "Y" at the end of Romney's name is used as a vowel therefore
Romney has no chance of winning. "Y" can be both a consonant and a vowel. In this case it is vowel which should insure Romney's defeat.

Chew on that!

9. That is the ticket
I have been most worried about and most certain it would be. One of the scariest tickets I can imagine and most likely the hardest to beat.

14. Bush family hedges its bets for 2008

Bush family hedges its bets for 2008
By Alexander Bolton
March 26, 2007

Much of Jeb’s inner circle has picked Romney. The list includes Sally Bradshaw, who served as Gov. Bush’s campaign manager in 1994 and 1998 and as his first gubernatorial chief of staff; Ann Herberger, who was the governor’s campaign finance director; and Mandy Fletcher, who recently headed Bush’s think tank, Foundation for Florida’s Future, and worked on his reelection. In addition, Alan Philp, Bush’s former policy director, is coordinating policy and issues for Romney.

Jeb Bush’s former lieutenant governor Toni Jennings, Al Cardenas, who served as Florida GOP chairman under Jeb, David Griffin, who headed Jeb’s second -term transition office and was the Florida Lottery Secretary, Sherri McVay, executive director of Jeb’s statewide advocacy council, and Kristy Campbell, the former governor’s press secretary, are all playing roles in Romney’s campaign.
