Keep the Clintons
outta the Bushes!! (And, outta the White House!) (cross posting here...meant to put it here in the first place).

I still say that every one of the "bottom 4" (Biden, Dodd, Kucinich, Richardson) are better qualified than the "top 3." (Clinton, Edwards, Obama)

And, last night's debate, IMO, proved it.

Biden, Dodd, Kucinich and Richardson were the only 4 on stage that did not, at some point, equivocate (again, IMO).

Of the top 3--Edwards, IMO, is the best candidate to lead. But, he's not the best of the field...just better than Clinton or Obama (IMO).

Just saying.

2. It is time the people of this nation be represented, not the corporations and lobbyists. Edwards is
the candidate who represents us!

3. I do agree that Edwards is good on that point...
his line about "corporate Republicans" and "corporate Democrats" was a good one...and, a true one. Still, I think that of the Senators, Biden and Dodd beat Clinton and Edwards when it comes to experience and ability.

4. Interesting. The bottom four are best, you say.
Do you think it's possible (I've wondered this about myself as well) that the also-rans somehow seem more appealing because they're on the bottom--so that all you hear about them is their substantive takes on the issues?

I share your bias. But I wonder if, say, Dodd broke thru we'd all be saying he's an out-of-touch old school deal brokering eastern elitist with a suspiciously youthful trophy wife.

Certainly if Biden broke out of the pack, he'd start getting a lot of bundled corporate donations and we'd start dismissing him as a show-horse and a prima dona and a tool of the corporations that own Delaware.

I sometimes wonder if I don't just have a soft spot for the underdog too much.

5. I hear what you are saying...
but, still undecided (except that I WON'T vote for Clinton) as to who I will vote for---and, liking Edwards stance on "corporatists," I really tried to listen and judge the candidates based on knowledge and experience.

But, as you say, we all have our biases. The problem comes when we don't recognize our biases, and don't try to overcome them.

For example, I'm not opposed to a "woman president." I think there are several women that would make good presidents (Barbara Boxer, for example). But, I won't vote for Clinton. (And, some might say, because I'm a white male, that the reason for not voting Clinton is because she is a woman. They, however, would be wrong.)
