Ty Ziegel peers from beneath his Marine Corps baseball cap, his once boyish face burned beyond recognition by a suicide bomber's attack in Iraq just three days before Christmas 2004.

He lost part of his skull in the blast and part of his brain was damaged. Half of his left arm was amputated and some of the fingers were blown off his right hand.

But he didn't expect a new battle when he returned home as a wounded warrior: a fight with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Then is it up to us citizens to pay him to just loll around with his hideously disfigured wounds? Can we be really sure that these wounds are combat-related, and not self-inflicted? Where are the Republicans to wear their little purple heart band-aids to mock his alleged wounds? Who will save our wonderful country from the importunations of these selfish punks? Don't they know that there's a war going on, and we don't have extra money for their luxuries, like food and shelter?
