I've been watching to see what the next interesting thing will be from Al. He's going to be in New Hampshire next month with our presidential candidates.

Running for president??? Boy don't I wish! But this is the next best thing in my book. . . interacting with all the presidential candidates as a moderator for a bipartisan forum on energy and climate change.

More hot news. . . .

Al will be working with a GOP-counterpart to moderate this bipartisan forum. Can you guess who it will be????

Ahnold!!!

According to the San Jose Mercury News, Al and Ahnold are working on the details of this bipartisan forum. Al will moderate the Dems and Ahnold will handle the Republicans.

I cannot wait to see Al face to face with Hillary, Barack, and John to challenge them on climate and energy issues. In particular, I cannot wait to hear exchanges between Al and Hillary!!!! I hope this gets media coverage.

UPDATE From Article (subscription required)

Schwarzenegger spokesman Adam Mendelsohn says it's still being planned, but candidates from both major parties are expected to attend. The former vice president will handle the Democratic candidates, while Schwarzenegger will handle the Republicans.

3. This could be embarrassing for them.
It might come across like a teacher in front of a kindergarten class.

5. Gore will be speechless when Clinton wows him with her plan to...
...increase fuel efficiency standards to 55 miles per gallon by 2030 and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

8. Wonder if this is why he asked efforts to be on the ballot in CA & NH
to be halted. Wouldn't look good for him to be organizing a debate while he's preparing a Dem/Repug debate with Schwartzenegger. Very Interesting......

Gore, Schwarzenegger push climate forum

By LAURA KURTZMAN, Associated Press Writer 8 minutes ago

Former Vice President Al Gore and California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will take part in a bipartisan presidential forum on energy and climate change next month in New Hampshire, shortly ahead of the state's first-in-the-nation primary.

Gore, who has been the target of several Democratic grass-roots efforts to persuade him to run for president, has said he has no plans to become a candidate, but hasn't firmly shut the door to a bid. Schwarzenegger, a Republican and native of Austria who is prohibited by the Constitution from becoming president, had previously signaled his intention to play a role in the 2008 contest by drawing attention to issues of special interest, including global warming.

A spokesman for Schwarzenegger confirmed the forum after Arizona Sen. John McCain, a GOP presidential candidate, mentioned it Thursday during a news conference in Sacramento, Calif.

Schwarzenegger spokesman Adam Mendelsohn says the forum is still being planned, but candidates from both major parties are expected to attend. Gore — who won the popular vote for president in 2000, but lost the electoral vote count through a Supreme Court decision — will handle the Democratic candidates at the forum, while Schwarzenegger will handle the Republicans.

"I know the issue," said McCain, who has been an advocate in Congress for legislation regulating the greenhouse gas emissions responsible for climate change. "I've been involved in it for many, many years. And I'm proud to have played a role in leadership on it."

Gore's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But Mendelsohn said the former vice president was actively involved in designing the forum.

This year, Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize for his effort to inspire action to curb climate change, and a documentary based on his effort, "An Inconvenient Truth," won an Academy Award.

11. This is Fantastic! And for those candidates (probably the majority of them) who
aren't up to snuff on these issues, it'll get them looking into it, and with him moderating the discussion, they can't help but learn from him even more.

The ULTIMATE goal in my book, is to educate these folks and let them know what they CAN do if they become president, and what they CAN do now in their current offices or lives.

And with Gore at the helm, he'll ask more REALISTIC questions. Having been in government, he doesn't have unrealistic expectations of what can be accomplished and what it takes to achieve those goals.

Excellent! I believe he's bringing more to US and the world by conducting high-profile forums such as this.
