a lot of people would hate what you stood for, even if they had no idea who you were. Just a few of the people who would be completely against things that you were for: -Veterans against a war that you had benefited from -Citizens of a country invaded in a war that you had benefited from -Americans laid off from their jobs because of outsourcing you benefited from -Social justice advocates who worked for things which would lessen your profits -Peace activists
Presumably, the things these people believed would annoy you. Would it make you terribly sad if 20-year-old peace activists started fighting with the 60-year-old peace activists? Would it worry you if left-leaning Christians turned against left-leaning atheists? Would you have any reason to be upset if the Mexican immigrant working class and the American born working class hated and mistrusted each other?
If you, a successful business leader, ever imagined what it would be like if these things stopped happening, you might think to yourself, "They might actually realize that they share ideas!" And chances are you wouldn't like that idea very much. Because then all those annoying people might get together and start yelling. A bunch of people who disagree with you fighting each other, or a bunch of people fighting you. Which scenario would you prefer?
