Happy Holidays Americans !
Another e-mail gem from my friend Steve....

Happy Holidays Americans!

As you are adding to your average $10,000 in credit card debt this holiday season, you should be aware that you've been committed as a American Citizen to pay President George W. Bush's Iraq War Debt. This may affect the glee with wich you take on furhter obligations to pay for Thanksgiving feasts and Christmas presents.

Your personal debt load for the Iraq war so far is $12,000. Thats twelve grand for you, twelve grand for your spouse, and twelve grand for each of your kids. What did you get ofr this twelve grand each?

Did your family get health insurence?
No.
Did your family get mass transportation?
No.
Did your family get America's roads and bridges repaired?
No.
Universities or public schools built and funded?
No.
National Parks expanded and improved?
You must be kidding.
Environmental clean up?
Negatory.
Investment in the productive capacity of the nation?
Nope.
Good will for America around the world?
Oye!!!

What you got was Iraq and Iran further destablized,

You got the U.S. Dollar weakened to the point that it is no longer in fact a currecny of reserve,

Hyper inflation just around the corner,

The Military of the United States in shambles,

Private contractor armies raiding the nations wealth for a still not yet defined objective, as in how do we know when Victory is achieved?

The emnity of most of the world.

So on that note-

Happy Thanksgiving

Merry Christmas

Best wishes for the New Year

2. Points well taken
But how in the world do people spend ten grand on the holidays?

I guess I was raised differently than most. Mom always said to either make a gift or only buy something you know the person really wanted or needed. We even had a rule that we could spend only a certain amount on a person. Mom made it a challenge-we'd draw the name of the person we were to buy for, then the name of the store where we were to get it--grocery store, hardware store, drug store, dime store. Made it very interesting and fun. And I thought that was the point of gift giving-having fun. Only once in my life did I spend a lot for gifts-my first year working. And it wasn't any fun. Went right back to my old habits, which I continue to this day (including making reusable fabric bags to place the gifts in).

3. A tragic, buzzkilling, dose of reality
but simple truth for all of that. Everyone who voted for B*shit should have "I'm with Stupid" tattoo'd on his or her forehead. And happy holidays to you, too. :hi:

4. your sincerity overwhelms me

Seems to me you should have posted this over at that other place. The snarkiness of your post is what they feed off and nourishes their arrogant attitudes. The majority here support nothing about this administration and I for one don't appreciate your greeting.

11. I will try to explain I would think there are many foreigners
who would have this sort of attitude towards the status of America right now.
