I saw it tonight for the first time. I was in DC the week it premiered in September (part of Camp Democracy), I've met and had conversations with a number of vets that are in this very powerful film. I can't say anything more than if you have not seen this film you must now find a way to do so. When you see it you will also want to have as many people as you know and maybe even don't know see it. Make it happen.
I was with a gentleman this evening that I heard crying. I was in tears, but he was crying more than I was.
This film should be required viewing in every government class there is, high school and college.
I do have some skin in the game. My daughter is a student in Freeperland (A&M (Gates anyone?)) and I also have 4 nephews and 1 niece. This warring has to stop.
Peace..
edit to add,
I talked to my daughter tonight. She is in a PolSci class and a History class this semester. She's studying the Salem Witch Trials (?) and in PolSci just learning about the Constitution, branches of gov't, "you know, Mom, just the stuff".
I can't seem to make it leave my head right now, "Salem Witch Trials"? Her father and I are paying how many thousands, for what? That's okay, what is just one more "shock & awe" at this point anyway, right?
NanceG wrote a beautiful essay that I read earlier today addressing how I'm feeling right now. Remember when........
