4. Ah... The Loyalty Question, How Cute...
Let me explain it this way.

If my competitors (The Republicans) prove themselves to be criminally corrupt, and morally bankrupt, I move from any sort of begrudging respect for them, to outright animus and contempt.

I would give them a grade of F-, and a nice long prison sentence.

OTOH...

If my team (The Democrats) prove themselves to be squishy parsers of words and philosophical eunuchs, and who give ground on the very Constitution they have SWORN to protect so they can hold onto power and their cherished committee chairmanships, I view them with derision, and as pathetic.

I would give them a grade of D-, and a nice well funded primary challenger.

So I ask you...

Just because the Republican traitors are worthy of an F-, should I be silent and satisfied when my team sits there earning a D- ???

10. Ah, the obfuscation attempt. How cute.
You're generalizing all Democrats as being worthy of shame (bag over head).

It's a cheap, stupid, broad attack.

So I ask you....

Why are you here?

7. Sweets... I Registered As A Democrat In 1974...
And have voted Democratic every time.

Got to meet Bobby Kennedy, and pal around with one of his sons.

MY Democratic credentials are pretty lengthy.

When I see my party trying to put its head up its ass, I tend to say something.

Part of being a Democrat, is to not blindly follow ANYBODY!

19. willy, i've been a life long democrat,
and i'm not too happy with the dems lately either, but they're still a hell of a lot better than the republicans. i watched several of the republican debates and couldn't believe my eyes and ears.

mike huckabee said that the reason we don't have people to do the work that illegals do is because 35 million people have been aborted.:eyes:

26. Yeah... And It's Not The First Time Some RW Puke Has Said That...
Interesting logic though, don't you think?

If we hadn't aborted those 35 million people, we wouldn't need people from other countries that are willing to do the jobs Americans aren't willing to do. We'd have 35 million more Americans not willing to do the jobs Americans aren't willing to do.

:wtf::crazy::wtf:

And they'd STILL veto SCHIP!

20. There is a time and place for everything.
There are websites that I like which encourage a consistent position of advocacy, and there are websites I like which encourage active debate between a multitude of viewpoints. Both are necessary.

9. Expressing dissatisfaction and disappointment doesn't make one un-Democratic.
It means we hold our party to a higher standard than Repukes do. WE expect more, even if the Republicants don't. I thought you were right on there, WillyT. We need to hold our elected Democratic representatives' feet to the fire until they're more afraid of us than they are of the Repukes.

A favorite quote from Thomas Jefferson:

When the government fears the people there is liberty; when the people fear the government there is tyranny.

Goes for political parties as well, methinks!

14. WillyT, some people just can't take a joke.
Maybe this is why it is so hard for Democrats to win elections.

17. I Agree, And What It Tells Me Also...
is that people here are worried.

With a year more left to this constant caving, ya start wondering if a certain mindset theory will come to pass.

That theory being:

If the Democrats can't stand up and defend us from the Republicans, especially THESE Republicans, then how can we believe they can defend us from __________ ?

Fill in your favorite boogieman.

This election should be totally in the bag. And it may still be.

But whatever the narrowness of the upcoming election, I believe it will be determined by Democratic behavior, not Republican.

If we want that 60 seat Senate majority, or whatever, we're gonna have to EARN IT!!!
