Just agree to this:

You get the nomination and progressives get to write the platform, which you will then defend.

That's how the party's supposed to work anyway...with power held by the grassroots.

And it would guarantee you a landslide victory.

1. Hillary doesn't read DU.
She's too busy running for President. Will you vote for her if she wins the nomination?

3. If her supporters didn't read DU, I'd be more impressed with your remark.
I'll vote for the nominee. But the nominee isn't automatically owed the support of all progressives no matter what platform the nominee runs on or what attitude the nominee takes towards the grassroots.

The time when it made sense for the Democratic party to leave progressives and activists out in the cold is gone and gone forever. 2006 was a progressive grassroots win and the Beltway mainly just got out of the way.

4. Really?
So heath Schuler and the other bluedogs elected were a progressive grassroots win? The truth is that 2006 was a mixed bag. And according to the analysts and the results, that ultimate insider, Emanuel who headed up the DCCC had a very successful election.
