COLORADO ROCKIES All Christian Story Not True - It's A Year Old
I guess because of our loss last night, this old story had to resurface. God wasn't listening to our team last night because she knows they aren't all Christians.

SAN DIEGO - Colorado Rockies players and management say the team enjoys a healthy, positive attitude in its clubhouse but is anything but a bunch of choirboys.

"We look for players with character and ability," Rockies general manager Dan O'Dowd said Wednesday, the day a USA Today cover story portrayed the organization as being built around "a Christian-based code of conduct."

"Ability is part of it," O'Dowd said. "I have neighbors who are good people, but they can't hit a 95-mile-per-hour fastball or throw a 92-mile-per-hour sinker."

Rockies players and officials said they weren't comfortable with the national newspaper's characterization of the team.

"Character is nondenominational," O'Dowd said.

With the Rockies having been one of the surprise teams in the opening months of the 2006 season, they have started to draw attention from out-of-town media trying to explain the turnaround in a franchise that has suffered five consecutive losing seasons and has not finished higher than fourth place in the National League West in the past eight years. http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/mlb/article/0,2777,DRMN_23924_4741695,00.html

2. Of course it's not true
but why ruin the fun everyone was having jumping on it. See how many new Red Sox fans were "born" because of it?

4. Still reads like
Christianity is a determining factor for good character. Who started the theme in the national paper?

5. But they read the article in USA Today, so it MUST be true.
Just like the emails I got claiming the Marine Guard hating to salute President Clinton and the one claiming that the Secret Service hates Hillary cause she's a bitch.

6. Is A Conspiracy Theory, Isn't It?
Someplace in Colorado -- underneath a mountain, I think, people are plotting this conspiracy to deny the Rockies the Championship.

7. Sounds to me like they're trying to control the spin
I don't believe them.

They sound born-again to me.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

8. You know, you could be right.
What if the final battle between Good and Evil that brings on the apocalypse wasn't really between Satan and God, but between the National and American League? This could be it folks. You know, Boston is close to where they had all those witches back then. Better choose your sides now.
